"Y/N, do you mind if I stay with you? I don't have anywhere to go."

"Yeah," I said. "Of course. But first, I think we should see Touka."

We walked towards the small coffee shop and walked in. Touka and Yomo were behind the counter working.

"Hey, guys," she smiled at is.

"Hey, Touka," I said and we sat at the counter.

"The usual?" she asked.

"You bet," Kaneki said and sat next to me.

"Glad to see you're back, Kaneki," Touka smiled at him.

"I'm glad to be back," he said to us.

"I'm going to head home tonight, Touka. You ok with being here for the rest of the night?" Yomo asked.

"Yeah I should be fine," Touka said.

"Alright. I'll see you later," he said and walked out of the small café.

"So did Y/N tell you?" Touka asked.

I looked up at Touka, who had a smirk on her face.

"It was more like I did," Kaneki chuckled.

"Shut it, Kaneki," I said and elbowed him.

"Oh so it was Kaneki who made the first move?" Touka chuckled. "That's unlike you, Kaneki."

"Well I figured that was where she was heading when she was talking," Kaneki said.

"Oh so you basically just said 'Shut up I know where you're heading with this.'," she chuckled.

"Yeah, basically," Kaneki smiled.

"Well I'm just glad you two are finally happy. You two, of all people, deserve it."

The door opened up and Touka looked up and greeted whoever walked in.

"Is Y/N here?" someone asked.

I turned to look at who was asking for me to see Kage was standing there. So much time had passed since I had last seen him. He had grown so much.

"Kage," I said.

"There's something I needed to tell you," Kage said.

"I'll let you two talk," Touka said.

Touka and Kaneki got up and walked into the back to let the two of us talk.

"Come sit up here, bud," I said.

He walked over to the counter and sat down next to me.

"What's up, Kage?" I asked.

"I never told you the truth about me," Kage said.

"What do you mean?"

"I was born about fifteen years after you. Mom and dad hid me from you because they knew how their work was affecting. So they took me over to the 13th ward and a friend of theirs took care of me. Once they knew of what happened, they returned to the 13th ward to take care of me. They had someone here watch over the house and once they saw you were no longer there, they came back to raise me. They had to get rid of the flesh that was in the fridge and hid the fact that you were a ghoul from me. After what happened in the 20th ward, they finally told me that you were a ghoul. I was still a bit confused and I just wanted to see it for myself. But my question for you is: why didn't you attack us when you found out we were home?"

"I couldn't attack my mother and father. I wanted to believe that they left to save me because they were Doves. And Doves are meant to kill ghouls. And if the CCG knew if they were harboring a ghoul, they would be killed. The three of us might have been killed if they found out. So I didn't want to attack them because there was part of me that wanted to know the full answer."
