"Y/n sweetie...can you promise me something?" A weak voice called out to Y/n

"What is it, mommy?" The 5-year-old replied to her mother, who's lying on the hospital bed with several things attached to her

"Can you promise me to be happy?" She said with a small smile

"Of course! That's easy!" Y/n replied with a happy smile on her face

"In this cruel world, being happy won't be that easy sweetie but a sweetheart like you deserves to be happy" She caresses her daughters' cheeks with a smile

"Mommy what are you saying? Everyone deserves to be happy!" Her Innocence makes her mother laugh slightly

"Haha that's right Y/n...so do you promise?"

"Promise!"

"Good...now I can sleep peacefully" She lays her head and closes her eyes, letting out a sigh

"Is mommy tired?"

"Yes sweetie, mommy will close her eyes for a while okay?"

"Okiee I won't disturb you"

"Can you hug me first?"

"Of course!" Y/n approaches her mother and hugs her

Her mother hugged her tighter and cries

"Mommy? Why are you crying?" She asks, letting go of the hug

"It's nothing sweetie, I'm just happy to hear you promised to be happy, keep your promise okay?"

"I will!"

"Even if I'm not next to you?" Y/n tilts her head In confusion

"Huh? But mommy! You said you'll always be with me, you promised" She whined and pouted at her mother

"Haha I will sweetie...just not next to you"

"Okay! I'll keep my promise if you keep your promise!"

"Alright sweetie...mommy is going to sleep, mommy loves you, don't forget that" Tears run down her eyes as she said that

"Haha why are you talking like you're leaving mommy, i love you too!"

And at that moment, her mother closed her eyes and the machine next to her showed a straight line

Doctors and nurses immediately rushed in while Y/n's aunt picked her up and took her away from the room

"Auntie? What are they doing? Mommy is trying to sleep, why are they disturbing?"

She didn't answer

Tears rolled down her face as she tries to silence her sobbing by holding one hand on her mouth

"Auntie? Why are you crying? Are you sad?"

She wipes her tears away and reassured Y/n that she's fine "Do you wanna eat?"

"Nu-uh, I just ate lunch with mommy" She shook her head

"A-ah okay, are you sleepy?" She said, trying to get Y/n away from all the commotion

"Haha, auntie! It's in the afternoon! Why would i be sleepy?"

"Haha okay then...do you want to go home?"
