With a burst of motivation, I opened my Twitch and began a stream. I waited a few minutes while people piled in. Then, I created a new world and started the timer. It took three more generations before I felt confident with the seed I was in. There was a savannah village and a desert temple in view. I went to the village first to collect food. Inside the blacksmith chest there was an iron chest plate, an iron pickaxe, an iron sword, and some red stone. I towered up with some blocks and started to kill the iron golem. With the iron it dropped, I made a bucket and grabbed some water. When I sprinted to the temple, I chopped down a tree on the way there. In the temple, there was a Looting III book, a couple golden apples, and a load of rubbish.

"Yes hehe," I giggled, stacking up from the temple and running off in a different direction.

I ran off further into the desert, instinctively collecting sticks from the dead bushes. When I found a lava pit, I noticed I was at seven minutes already. My heart rate picked up but I continued running. All the donations coming through were going in one ear and out the other as I focused. In fact, I was barely talking. After I built the portal in the lava pit and hopped into the Nether, I became conscious of the silence.

"Sorry I'm not speaking much guys. There's more on the line with this speed run than the others. I'll try to be better at answering some of the donos."

user1: what are you doing with the money dream gives you if you beat him?

A dono read out from the voice.

"Um, I have an idea of what I'm going to spend the money on, but it's a secr—YES!" I screamed, cutting off my own sentence. There was a fortress in sight right as I stepped off the portal.

I collected some netherrack for blocks and bridged over to the nether brick using a diagonal unshifting method. I smiled at the time, knowing that I was ahead compared to last night. God's good if he's going to allow me to beat Dream's record within an hour of the bet.

"I found the fortress, okay okay okay," I whispered, poking my tongue between my lips out of habit. When I'm really focused, that was my nervous tick.

user2: hi it's my birthday on Sunday can you say happy bday to Alissa? Ily

"Happy birthday—YES HAHA FUCK—whoops sorry. Happy motherfucking birthday to you Alissa. I hope Sunday is the bestest day in the world for you and I hope you get the gift you've been wanting. I love you too."

"Eat that green bitch," I sneered after I gathered a total of five blaze rods.

When I was about to collect my seventh one, I got double teamed by two blazes. I kept combatting them despite being cornered and scolded myself for not making a shield.

"Please no," I whispered, staring at my hearts going down. I took out one of the blazes, then the last one. After that, I took off in a sprint back to the nether portal. When I was on two hearts, I paused in my spot on the bridge.

"No," I said, "No!" I shouted, getting louder, "NO!" I screamed, my mic peaking as my hearts went down to half. Finally the burning stopped and the Minecraft gods left me with half a heart. I quickly ate my bread to heal up.

"I swear to fucking god if something goes wrong I'm going to chop my hand off. This is literally the best time I've ever had so far."

To make my day even better, it was night when I got back and there was an enderman standing on the shoreline. I sprinted over to it and killed it as quickly as possible. When it dropped a pearl, I made it into an eye and threw it. To add to my luck streak, it flew off into the ocean.
