My jaw dropped for the nth time today as I stood on a neatly placed brown pave way leading to a very beautiful beige colored cottage. Colorful flowers growing all the way from here to around the cottage. The sun has began to set and the small white fairy lights adorning the brown roof along with the smoke coming out of the chimney made the cottage looked magical.
"Am I dead?" I whispered asked myself. This cottage looks straight out of a fairytale book.
"Are you going to keep gawking or go in?" Ryder nudged me.
"Can I-I go in?" I asked not even bothered by Ryder's hard elbow nudging me on my side.
Ryder let out a deep sigh and flicked my forehead "Dumbo"
"Ouch. That hurt jerk " I rubbed my forehead
"Bambi? What a pleasant surprise I missed you," an old women came running out.
Ryder hugged her, Her head barely reaching his shoulder. She was wearing a red maxi dress with yellow flower prints on the bottom of the dress. She then turned to me and giving me a smile. Her short brown locks tugged behind her ears with a matching red hairband. She gave off such graceful and friendly vibes.
"Nonna, this is Audrey" Ryder introduced me
"Such a beautiful lady," she complimented.
I blushed "Umm. thank you. Nice to meet you. Sorry for intruding so late" I apologized
"Oh Sweetie, it's not a bother at all," then she turned to Ryder "Nice catch." She wiggled her brows.
I frowned what was that suppose to mean.
Ryder coughed "It's not, "
"Oh hush! Let's go in. You must be tired," she pulled us inside the dreamy house.
I told her she had a lovely house trying to not gush like a little kid. Then I learned that she was Mr.Knight's mother. They retired and wanted to live in this secluded area.
"How did you even get lost? You should have just informed me if you were visiting, "
"I wanted to surprise you Nonna"
"Aww Bambi I'm so glad you come to visit us. Tell your parents to drop in sometimes,"
"Mother is with Raelyn all the time. While Father, as always busy with work,"
"Like father like son. Your grandpa went to check on a new business. The retirement was just a label he can't stop worrying, "she let out a sigh while shaking her head.
"Audrey tell me more about yourself? You know Ryder never brought home anyone other than Lycan"
Before I could reply Ryder cut in "Noona she is just my classmate we got a project that was nearby so I decided to drop by,"
I nodded for confirmation.
"Hush Bambi I wasn't asking you. So, Audrey w-"
"It's getting late we need to get back," Ryder cut in again standing up from the couch.
"But you just came. You need to eat dinner,"
I felt Ryder gave me a nudge slightly nodding his head. I got what he was saying
"Uh yes. My mom just called me to come back for dinner," I lied
"Noona, I'll bring her some other day,"
"My birthday is coming up. It's on a Saturday you won't have classes. Audrey you have to come,"
"Noona, Audrey is very busy, " said Ryder without waiting for me to reply.
"If you promise to bring Audrey to the gathering. I will send a good word to my son," she singsonged those words.
