𝗜 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 the kitchen when my 5 year old kid came in.

"Mommy?"

"Yes" I said washing the dishes

"How did you and daddy met?"

"Well that's a long story"

"Can you tell me?"

"I can tell you what he was like because uncle kairi is going to come get you in a couple minutes "

"Ok" he said going on the couch

I dried my hands and sat down next to him.

He smiled at me softly. I immediately saw Mattia. He had his eyes, his goofy ness, he even had a tough side.

"Come on mommy"

"Ok ok" i sat down and started to talk

"Your dad was amazing. He brought me so much happiness. But sadly it didn't last long. See we met when we were in high school. We became friends then started dating going into our junior year."

"He always had the biggest smile. He never made me sad. He brought me joy, and showed me love."

"I loved him so much and I still do" I said while my eyes got blurry

"Don't cry mommy" he said hugging me

"Ik it's just hard but we will make it through"

"Did daddy love me?"

"Ofc. He loved you so much."

"When he saw you he immediately knew that he loved you"

"His love was so powerful. Just looking at him the eyes made you fall in love with him all over again. His smile his laugh, they way he protected me it was comforting. He made me feel safe"

"I'll protect you know mommy" he said making me laugh

"Thank you but you're too young"

He frowned.

"but He loves us very much" I said looking at him.

He smiled and hugged me tight.

"I love you mommy"

"Me too"

The 5 year old held on tight to his mother. He looked up still hugging her and whispered

"I love you dad"

Y/n heard her 5 year old making her smile.

"Well you got to go kairi is already here"

He let go and looked at her

"Do you think daddy misses us?"

"He probably does." I chuckled
"But don't be sad. We'll met him one day" I said putting my forehead against his

He nodded his head and headed out the door with kairi

She closed the door looking at the photo of her and her husband. She picked it up running her soft fingertips on it.

She hugged the frame that showed a picture of them together.

"I miss you" she said while tears went down her cheeks

"𝑖 𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝑜𝑜" he whispered back into her ear

And with that she smiled knowing that he never left her side.

Even though he didn't survive that car accident,

He will always be watching.
