“So you’ve met the other lads?” Miki asks, eyes widening in disbelief.
“Not really; we’ve hung out with Niall and Liam, but haven’t actually met the others yet,” Rayne informs the wide-eyed girl. She chuckles at the look on her friend’s face.
“And by ‘yet’ she means that we don’t really know if we’ll ever meet the others,” Morgan says. “But we’re glad that we’ve gotten to meet any of them; they’re really sweet guys.”
Mikayla thinks about what her friends have told her, silently wondering what it’s like to be friends with One Direction. After a few moments of pondering, she laughs out loud, causing the other girls to become confused.
“Are you okay?” Rayne questions, raising an eyebrow at her friend.
“Do Niall and Liam know that you wrote fanfiction about the members of their band?” Miki inquires, having remembered the stories that Rayne had posted on Wattpad regarding One Direction.
“Ye-no. Not even a little. They are never to know about that.”
Morgan looks at Rayne and bursts out laughing, noticing how flushed her best friend’s cheeks are. She cuts her laughter short after receiving a stern look from the lady behind the desk, reminding her of where they were all sitting. “Hey, Miki, how about you join us for dinner tonight? Unless you already have plans, of course,” she suggests, realizing that they probably won’t have much more time to catch up otherwise.
“Oh, sure; the friend I’m staying with was going to be out tonight anyways, so I don’t have anything else to do.”
As they wait for their respective companions, the three girls make plans to meet up again for dinner at the same Nando’s where Morgan and Rayne first met Niall. After a few minutes, a girl around their age comes and collects Mikayla, leaving the other girls to wait for Liam together.

Liam walks out of the medical offices with a smile on his face, more than ecstatic with the results of his appointment. He hadn’t dared hope for anything more than mediocre news, but what the doctor told him was the most amazing thing he had ever heard. He hurries over to where his two friends are still seated, neither of them looking up. He realizes that they both have earphones in; Rayne is listening to music on her iPod and Morgan is watching a movie on her iPad.
After waiting for a few minutes to see if either of the girls with notice him, Liam sits down across from them and sends them both a text to let him know that his appointment is over. He doesn’t blame them for being distracted, though; he ended up being in his physical examination for a couple of hours.
“Oh, sorry about that,” Rayne murmurs, yawning. She elbows Morgan, who is still enraptured by the film. “Morgan, time to go,” she mumbles as she pulls out one of friend’s earphones.
“What? Oh, sorry,” the other girl replies, pulling out her other earphone and pausing her movie. She puts her iPad and in her bag and turns to face Liam. “Ready to go then?”
“Uh, yeah,” he says. He stands up and offers each of the girls a hand up. “Would you like to go out somewhere for food? I think there’s a pizza place not too far from here,” he offers.
“Actually, we were planning on having an early dinner, so having a late lunch wouldn’t really work out,” Morgan informs Liam.
“Plus we had pizza with Niall just the other day,” Rayne adds without really thinking.
“You were hanging out with Nialler? When was this?” Liam asks, ignoring what Morgan had said.
“Uh, yeah, he invited us to hang out with him a couple of days ago. I don’t really remember what day it was, exactly…” Rayne admits, trailing off when she sees the look of hurt in Liam’s eyes.
