Bitter Sweet

CHAPTER 12

"Beth! Let's have lunch at Robertos later." Anne hurried after me, wrapping her arm around my shoulder, while nasa likod niya si Selena.

We were on our way to Rada Hall. Kakatapos lang din naming magtake ng practical sa PE, which was swimming.

"Sorry Anne, but I was actually gonna visit my friend later a West" I said, giving her an apologetic smile.

Last day na ng exam ni Drew mamaya, so we decided to have lunch together.

"Aw! Hindi ba hassle? I mean, you know always ka ata sa West." Anne replied,

Huminto kami sa vendo machine ng Aguirre building,"Wait lang." she added, inserting 20 pesos through the vendo.

I stayed quiet, It's not like I don't want to answer her question, Ayoko lang na mag tanong pa siya kung sasabihin ko na may tinatagpo ako don.

After niya makuha yung drinks niya ay dumiretso na kami sa Rada, umalis agad ako ng school nung hindi nag meet ang isang prof namin.I parked the car andtexted Drew na nasa Mcdo ako near West. Hindi muna ako bumaba at inabala ang sarili ko sa pag scroll sa instagram.

I stopped when I heard a knock on the window.

It was Drew,

I suddenly opened the car window.

"Hi!" I greeted him cheerfully

"Why didn't you park your car inside West?" Drew asked, nasa labas pa rin siya ng sasakyan.

I smiled shyly.

"Baka bawal pumasok?" I said a thin smile formed on my face, baka naman kasi bawal outsider don.

Napakunot ang noo niya.

"You studied here since grade school." He said,

I raised my eyebrow in confusion,

'How'd you know?" I asked him,

I didn't mention anything about my childhood, even my former schools.

"Miguel told me." He replied,

Mas lalong tumaas kilay ko,

Miguel and I have known each other since I was in Senior high school, where he was justa freshman in college, of course thanks to Nicole.

"Baka sitahin ako ng guard, ayoko naman yun." I said, ignoring what Miguel have told him.

"San ba tayo?" I added.

Hindi ko alam kung saan kami kakain, bakit hindi nalang dito sa mcdo?

"Let me drive your car, let's go grab lunch inside West."

I nod and open the car door, umusog ako sa passenger seat at siya pumalit sa akin sa driver seat. This is the first na siya ang magmamaneho ng sasakyan ko, well I love my car at gusto ko si Drew. San ba ang mas matimbang? Sasakyan ko oh siya?

As we entered , he parked in front of Lopez Jaena Hall. I guess it's the nearest parking area near the WVSU coop canteen so we don't have to walk far. He then led me to the 2nd floor and went inside West Side Cafe

We went straight to a table near a chalkboard that was full of doodles and notes on it.

"What do you want to eat?" Drew asked.

Nakatayo na siya sa harap ko.

"Uhm, a clubhouse sandwich or a burger please." I said,

He looked at me with confusion,

"That's not a proper meal Elizabeth."

I looked back at him,

"Well that's my lunch." I said firmly.
