Tips for Writing Cliché Female MCs

In my Virgin Female MC chapter, I went through the common characteristics of a cliché Female MC. I think all of those can be used to describe your women here.

One thing I forgot to include is that you must absolutely mention that she's "not your typical" MC.

Seriously, don't ever forget to use that phrase. In fact, make sure it's in your description.

I can go through all of the common terms you can use to define your normal, average, brunette, brown-eyed, and petite MC, but I just have one major pointer that I need everyone to never forget.

In your MC's mind, she must always have a deep insecurity about her looks, almost to the point of body dysmorphia so that she thinks she looks like this:

This is quite strange to me considering how rarely this happens in real life.

In your real life, if you're constantly praised for your looks, you know what it means. You're a beauty. So for authors to cast gorgeous women as their leads and then cripple them with this deep sense of insecurity... it's disingenuous and unrealistic.

A person is either one or the other. You're either gorgeous or you're not. You can't be both. Beauty impacts our identity, behavior, relationships, and access. It's not something that can be denied for the sake of fantasy and plot.

So please, if you're writing a normal, average, petite, brunette, then use one in your face claims. If you wanna write a romance featuring a beautiful woman, then make sure her confidence in her looks goes along with your character descriptions.

I know, I know. I'm ranting. So, it's time to move on
