Chapter 30

"How did you know I'm here?" mahinahong tanong niya.

"Where else is the most hateful place for you other than the place your friend had her accident."

She drank in the bottle and looked at Jacob through the corner of her eyes. She lied about hating the place. Yes, Kathleen had her misfortune here but this is also the place where she first met Jacob.

Inagaw sa kanya ni Jacob ang bote ng beer. "What have you done to yourself? What kind of craziness is going inside your head now?!" galit na wika nito.

"Craziness?" Miisha chuckled. "Can't you see I'm just savoring the moment of drinking alone," kalmado't nakangising sagot niya habang nakatitig lamang sa bote at nakataas ang isang kilay. "Why do you have to run here in panic?"

"Sinong hindi magpapanic sa sinabi ng Mommy ni Kathleen. You texted her a very weird message!"

Napaisip ng ilang saglit si Miisha. Unti-unting tumaas ang sulok ng kanyang mga labi nang matumbok kung anong mensahe ang tinutukoy ng lalaki.

'If something happens to me, I'm giving my eyes to Kathleen.'

Binigyan niya ng mapait na ngiti si Jacob. "Ah yun ba? What's weird about it? Indeed, you can really never tell what will happen to you next."

Hinawakan siya ng binata sa magkabilaang balikat at pwersadong iniharap. Her calmness and smirks adds fuel to his anger.

"Do you know what I've gone through dahil sa text mo?! Kung ano-anong masasamang bagay  ang pumasok sa isipan ko. Even Kathleen's mom was worried! I saw her standing outside the campus gate looking for you! She asked me to find you dahil sa pag-aalalang baka kung ano na ang ginawa mo sa iyong sarili!"

She got his hands off her at muling tumingin sa kaharap na bote ng beer. "You were thinking I'll do something bad to myself...Like what? Suicide?" She drank in the bottle, chuckled and look at him with tipsy eyes. "Should I do it?" nakangising bulong niya. "It seems like people will start worrying about me if I do that."

Umakyat ang dugo sa ulo ni Jacob. He couldn't believe how easily Miisha could utter those horrible words. "What did you just said?" nanliliit ang mga matang wika niya.

"Should I commit suicide?" may ngiti pang ulit ng babae.

Tumayo si Jacob at hinatak rin papatayo ang babae. "Don't ever say that words even if you're joking!" nanlalaki ang mga matang bigkas nito. 

Miisha didn't respond. Ngingiti-ngiting tinititigan niya lamang ang nag-aalalang lalaki. Ibinaling ni Jacob ang atensiyon sa mesa at nakita ang mga boteng pinag-inuman.

"Anong ibig sabihin ng lahat ng ito? Why are you drowning again yourself in these despiteful habit?! Akala ko ba okay ka na?! Nag-usap na tayong hindi ka na iinom di ba?! Can't you just listen to me for god sake Miisha?!Ano na naman ba ang problema mo? "
