"I don't know why you like her," Kenzie said. "She's got the personality of a plank."

"Kenzie!" I couldn't help but glare at her. "There's more to her than you know." I just have to find out somehow. If she would ever let me in.

"Whatever," Kenzie shrugged. In a split moment, her emerald eyes narrowed into a cold glare.

"What's wrong?" I followed her gaze and my jaw dropped when I saw Amelia walking our way. She was dressed in a silky red off the shoulder dress that clung desperately against her body.
Her appearance caused everyone in the room to stare at her.

"Hey Zara." Amelia's lips turned up into smirk.

"Wow!" I couldn't help but stare at her in awe.

"I thought you could use some company," Amelia answered. She glanced at Kenzie. "Clearly you needed it."

"She doesn't need to be around an opportunistic shlyukha," Kenzie stated.

"Whoa, okay let's calm down." I stepped in between them.

"What is going on?" Devin rushed over to us, followed by Madison who gave Amelia a quick once over before deciding that she was a threat. She stepped in front of Devin so that she could block his view of Amelia.

"Someone forgot to take out the trash, but I got it covered." Kenzie rolled up her sleeves.

Amelia gasped in offense.

"Kenzie no!" I placed my hand out to stop her from taking another step before I grabbed a hold Amelia's hand and led her out of the gymnasium.

Amelia pursed her lips together in disdain. "She's so rude."

"Yeah, that's Kenzie," I agreed. "What are you really doing here?" I realized I was still holding her hand and automatically dropped it.

"Seriously, I came here to see you," Amelia answered. She placed her hands on my shoulders as she closed the distance between us. "And give you some company."

"You shouldn't be here." Alyson's voice was cold and threatening.

I don't know why I felt like a kid who got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. I wasn't doing anything wrong but I felt like I was.

Amelia took her hands off my shoulders and slowly turned towards Alyson. "Hey Aly, long time no see."

"Cut the niceties," Alyson replied bluntly as she stared daggers at Amelia.

"Why so angry Aly?" Amelia asked in a singsong kind of way.

"Why are you here?" Alyson tried her best to sound calm, but you could hear the anger brimming from her voice. Her hands were clenched at her side.

"Isn't it obvious?" Amelia linked her arm with mine. "I'm here for Zara."

Zara, sure didn't know what the hell was going on and she still didn't. My mind was in limbo and I felt like I was a specter in my own body. All I could do was glance back and forth at Alyson and Amelia.

"And why is that?" Alyson interrogated.

"Well, you know when you like someone, you'll find ways to get close to them," Amelia answered.

I felt like my head was going to snap off with all the back and forth between the two.

Alyson let out a bitter laugh in reply. "We all know you only prefer boys."

"Just as much as you do," Amelia answered back with a smirk.

Before I knew it Alyson jumped at Amelia, grabbing a fistful of hair.
