"Prissy?"

He never should have come back to New York.

"Clarisse."

He never should have come back to New York.

Clarisse's spear appeared in her hand. "That's not funny."

He never should have come back to New York.

Achilles couldn't breathe.

He never should have come back to New York.

Clarisse pointed her spear at him. "Whatever you are, you better stop fucking look like him."

He never should have come back to New York.

He tried to back up, to put more space between them, but his steps were clumsy.

He never should have come back to New York.

"Stop fucking looking like him!"

He never should have come back to New York.

He tried to back away again. She threw the spear. He caught it before it made impact.

Like a magnet, it was pulled back to Clarisse's hand, and he absently noted a Leo-esque bracelet. She charged forward, and he recognized her anger. He dodged away from her.

But Clarisse was a daughter of Ares, and she was very angry. Her attacks came at him relentlessly. It only pissed her off more that he kept parrying and keeping his defense up, without ever going offensive.

Eventually he couldn't keep up with her rage. The tip of her spear would have buried itself far into his torso if he weren't invulnerable to it. She looked down at her shattered spear tip, and the lack of a wound on her opponent.

Her eyes snapped up to his. "Percy?"

One of Achilles' hands went straight to his temple, ineffectually trying to ward off the pain that exploded. His other hand went to brace his weight as his knees buckled. "Don't call me that." He hissed.

Instinctively, Clarisse caught him, and lowered them both to the ground.

"You're dead." She whispered.

"Kinda wish I was." Achilles replied.

"You're dead."

"I know. I know."

As he sat on the ground, she scuttled back a few paces. "You died."

"Apparently." Achilles agreed.

"You died!" Clarisse exclaimed. "I- I- your body!"

Achilles didn't have a response.

"We burned your shroud! We buried you! I went to your funeral! Twice!" Clarisse cried out.

Achilles looked up, the pain easing.

Clarisse stared at him.

"I shouldn't have come back to New York." Achilles said aloud.

"What?"

"I'm so sorry." Achilles said. "You shouldn't have seen me, I'm so sorry-"

"You're alive." Clarisse breathed. "You're actually alive."

"You can't tell anyone."

"What?" Clarisse exclaimed. "Why the hell not?"

"There's a good reason why you all thought I was dead."
