What if, the Dreamtale twins, Nightmare and Dream, was actually just one person?
The tree bore a child.
That child was actually just one skeleton, who has a split personality disorder.
The split personalities that they had named Nightmare and Dream.
It shall be up to you on how to interpret the apple incident with that information, or just be an entire different au that just visits the outside Multiverse as a guest.
