Okay so, in dis idea, Ink was never the one to help Dream have the... 'Crossing dimensions' ability, nor was he the one to help Dream get out.
Don't get me wrong, he did visited Dream before, but that's mostly to check on him and bring him food, never teaching him how to portal, thinking that Dream already knew how.
Well he doesn't.
No one in any AU suddenly knows how to travel through portals. Certainly not Nightmare at the start, he was taught.
And it appears to be the same teacher who had taught Nightmare, that had came to Dream.
Dream was taught how to portal.
And who other else who can portal through AUs that isn't Ink?
Error.
You can have fun with the idea, with Dream being secretly friends with Error, Ink managing to convince Dream that Error is the 'bad guy' or Error took Dream and taught him more about AUs, and even the balance itself.
It's up to you, whoever wants to write this xD
Dream could've also faked relying on Ink via portals and sneak off on his own.
I just thought it'd be neat if he played pranks with Error on Blue and Nightmare xD
