So here's what i think , i think Gideon loves animals !
Why ? Well in the episode Little Dipper , he has a pet hamster , puts Mabel in a pack of BEAR shaped gummy candy , and has a doggie door on the front door of his house which means he had , once had or will have a dog .
Also , after taking over the Mystery Shack he mept Mabel's pig . Sure he terrorized him , but he kept him .
Why would he surround himself with so much animal related things if he didn't love animals ? Maybe he loves them cause they're weaker than him , they make him feel powerful after being defeated by Dipper and Mabel .
