3 years later...

"An iced americano with with chocolate syrup." The man in front of me placed his order with a smile.

"Coming right up." I replied with a smile and he went to sit down at a table. I got to work, making the order that I had got.

"Y/n? You didn't go home yet? Your shift ends at 6 pm it's already 9!" Lisa scolded me going towards the counter and taking the order of another customer.

"I don't have anything to do at home. Might as well help you out." I replied still in the process of making the drink.

I placed it in front of the customer who had ordered it and bowed before returning to the counter.

I got out of jail 2 months ago. I met this girl in the apartment I rented out, my neighbour and she ran a cafe. She gave me a job there and pays me enough to survive on my own. She is basically my boss but she hates it when I talk formally with her. She's extremely kind and is a best friend of mine as well.

As for Taehyung, he still has a very special place in my heart. I never met up with him after I got out. I didn't want to ruin his life. I figured he must have gotten over me. And that's what I tried to do as well. I don't miss him the way I used to 3 years ago but I still do miss him sometimes. But I'm fine.

"It's time to close up. Let's go Y/n." Lisa jumped on me.

"Yeah let's close up." I replied with a smile taking off the apron.

"God go around the streets and find yourself a man! How long am I gonna have to take care of you?" She complained to which I only smiled. She knows about Taehyung and all of my past. But she doesn't talk about it all. She knew things get really ugly when I'm reminded of the past.

She locked the gates of the cafe and walked home with me. We stopped at the convenience store nearby and brought some snacks and drinks.

"Let me cook for you tonight. You've worked hard my loyal employee." She joked.

"Haha alright..."

The next day at the cafe it was unusually crowded. It was a Saturday so it almost always remains empty. But today is a hectic day. Too many customers in line. I stood at the counter taking orders and payments while Lisa prepared the drinks.

"Just a cappuccino please." The man placed his cash on the counter which I quickly collected letting other customers come forward.

'Two more. Okay you got this.'

"A vanilla laté."

'Okay last one.'

I looked at the customer and froze.

"It's been long eh?" He smiled at me. The same old box smile. The same face. The same scent. Everything about him was still same from 3 years ago.

"T-Tae?" I stuttered, tears at it's brink threatening to fall any moment.

"Can we talk?" He asked in that gentle voice I loved. I looked at Lisa and she nodded at me. She was obviously observing closely.

He took me towards an empty table.

"How have you been Y/n?" He asked looking deeply at me. Tears filling his eyes as he held my hand in his like the good old days.

"I'm fine." I replied looking back."

"Why didn't you come see me?" He jumped to the main topic not being able to put up with the burden anymore.

"I didn't want to hurt you again." I replied in a low voice.

"Y/n...I miss you a lot." I couldn't hold back anymore. I began to cry hiding my face in my palm.

"Hey, don't cry." He got up from his seat and sat beside me to hold me.

"I'm so sorry Tae. For ruining your life like this. I ruined you for my greed-"

"Stop it Y/n. Let's not talk about the past. Let's move on. Let's start fresh. From the begining." He suggested. I looked at him and he wiped off my tears like he used to.

"Hey there. I'm Kim Taehyung and I'm a prosecutor." He smiled extending a hand.

"I'm Park Y/n. An ordinary employee at this cafe. Nice to meet you." I shook hands with him smiling.
