{5} Where Is Your Hat?

Once I was satisfied with my work, I got it printed out, punched out two holes and placed it between the pages in the binder right where the original page was.

Then I started doing my research. Dad never told me who or what kind of a man he was (the one I killed). All I know is that he was involved with my dad somehow and he betrayed him. I was told that he stole a large amount of money from dad's business.

On the screen it read - Choi Hyun Sik, the grandson of the late CEO of Dasaeng company was found dead on so and so date and place. He was dealing with a lot financial problems both in his company and private life. He would often spend too much on his bad habits. Rumors say that he had gotten involved with some Drug dealers and ended up stealing the money... and it went on.

'Disgusting. He deserved to die.' I thought almost convincing myself that it was not my fault. I just did what I was asked to do. At surface I tried my best to not show I'm cool but deep down in my heart I was guilty of every single wrong doing of my life.

'He was just a sick bastard.'
I just shook those thoughts out of my head and went to bed with thoughts of Taehyung.

Next day, we had a small meeting. I found that the chairs were already arranged in a circle in the meeting room. Without wasting time I sat down at one of the chairs followed by Nina and Jimin.

"Why is she so energetic today?" Nina asked.

"Come on she's cute dont you think?" Jimin replied with a smile and Nina sighed.

"Are you guys talking about me?" I asked the two of them curiously and they shook their heads.

Then came the guy who Taehyung likes to call a scum, the idiot Yunjae. He went and sat beside Nina and she facepalmed.

'Cute.' I thought.

After a while when almost all the seats were taken, came our hot officer, Kim Taehyung. He took a seat right at the front.

"I have arranged this meeting to find out how much we have proceeded with the case." He explained.

"Sir." Nina stood up, "so far we have the background check and we have the list of prostitutes in the town. We have also gathered information about his family and friends according to Ms. Areum as she thinks it could have been a family who wanted to take over his property." She said half teasing me.

I looked at Taehyung and he looked back at me with a smile and a gentle nod.

Another man at the other corner stood up and started speaking.

"Sir. There is a  rumor that Choi Hyun Sik's wife Choi Na Ye had an affair with another man. We are currently tracking that man down as we have come to conclude that he also wanted just the property."

"Good. The tiniest bits of information can be useful." Taehyung praised.

All of them took turns to speak and Taehyung was listening to them with full concentration. On the other hand, I was busy drooling over him as none of the information was useful. They have already gone the wrong track.

He finally stood up with a red diary in his hand in which he was scribbling down all the important information. "Well done all of you. We are going at a good pace. Nina? You have the list of the prostitutes right?"

Nina nodded.

"Call all of them up. We will have an interrogation with them tomorrow. Then we call up his family the next day and after that his friends. Is that clear?"

Everyone agreed at once.

"You may all leave now." He ordered and one by one they all left the room.

"Areum can you come here for a bit?" Taehyung called me in again just when I was about to leave.

"Why exactly do you think the prostitute is not at fault?" He came towards me questioning me.

"I'm not really saying its not her fault. I just want to keep all of the options open." I explained.

"I see. Where's your hat today, doll?" He said smiling and patting my head.

"I left it home so you would stop calling me doll!" I said playfully hitting his arm.

"Haha alright. Lets go doll." He said pulling me out of the room.

"Stop calling me that!"

"Okay....doll." He kept joking around all day.

Not gonna lie I dont exactly hate it. I rather take it as a compliment.

Don't you just love Tae's nose? I find it really cute! Am I weird?
