"Weirdo."
"Virgin."
"Freak."

Every morning wandering the halls before class is amazing, isn't it? That sentence was pretty heavy with sarcasm, if it wasn't already obvious enough. They never seemed to get sick of the names, even when I completely ignored it. I snorted internally at the thought of those talks we had been given as children, you know, the ignore the bully and they'll give up sort of thing. Unfortunately, it really didn't work that way.

I'm Simon and am openly asexual, have been for about a year now. I'm proud of it too, after several years of going through the 'I'm broken' phase. There was no sense to do anything other than embrace it.

Yes, I have gotten a lot of hate. One instance was when this girl who liked me found out I didn't like the idea of sex or just... anything remotely sexual in general, so she decided the best course of action was to pour water on me. Wonderful, clearly. On top of that, the insults added to all of the shit I get for it. They get real creative sometimes.

"Pussy."
"Bonebreaker."
"Bitch."

I'm kidding, by the way. They're never creative, not once have I heard something that remotely peaked my interest. All I could do was sigh under my breath and mentally roll my eyes, hoping not to provoke a physical reaction from them. I had never been beaten up before, but I didn't put it past them.

Over the course of this book, you'll find out about my plight along with the plights of my friends. Learn about the twelve boys that create a bond over one thing, the thing that has always weighed us down. We all had something that made us different. Something that made us outcasts.

That was what we were. Outcasts.
