Chapter 13 (caroline)

"Hey Adam, I'm here" I said walking into his house "hey sis" he said hugging me "oooo, Chanel number 2... who is that?" I asked smelling the scent from his collar "tell you at dinner" he said pushing me right back out the door "is she someone serious?" I asked "yes, for once in my life I'm settling down" he said sarcastically at the table at dinner "hey I was just asking" I said taking my jacket off "here" he said handing me a small package and I looked at him suspiciously "is this going to explode in my face?" I asked remembering all the other gag gifts my brother have gotten me over the years "no, it's a sincere gift" he said and I opened it up, it was a deck of personalized cards with 'Sweet Caroline good times never seemed so good" on the back of the playing cards in pink and orange and green and blue "oh Adam, that is so sweet of you" I said getting up and hugging him "I figured since you were calling me you need some cheering up" he said "I would call you over Peter and Michael almost every single time" I said smiling at him as our food came, I took one bite and almost cried, it tasted exactly like what Aidan made the night of our date "what's wrong?" he asked "I met this guy and I wasn't going to have anything to do with him but... its long and complicated but we ended up sleeping together a couple times and I fell for him, I honestly did but the last night I started yelling at him and Im not sure why and I just stormed off and I forced the girls into the car the next day and drove off without any of them getting to say goodbye to their guys" I said and he stared at me like I was an alien "first, you have and always will like to go out with a bang something to make people remember you even if its a painful memory so you fighting with him was that.... so let me guess all of your friends fell for his friends" he said "yeah basically" I said "either that's just pure luck or their playing you, but for your sake I hope it's just luck" he said paying for dinner and we left I slept in his spare bed room and when I woke up I remembered I left my jacket at the restaurant "are you sure you don't want me to come?" Adam asked as he was in his car about to go to the cabin "no, ill just stop by and get it and ill be there, don't worry" I said getting in my car "see you then" he said pulling out of the drive way I drive back to the restaurant and went inside "sorry Miss were closed" a guy said sitting at the bar reading a magazine "oh I know, I'm sorry to bother you but I left my jacket..." I said when my phone rang "so sorry" I said answering it "have you got your jacket yet?" Adam asked "no Adam I haven't I just walked in, I told you ill be there soon, now good bye" I said hanging up and the guy looked amused "sorry brothers are... well bless their hearts" I said and he laughed "trust me I know here my brother comes now" he said pointing to the door and I turned around as he walked in "Aidan?" I asked "Caroline?" he said as if he was wondering why I was here "what are you doing here?" he asked "I left my jacket here last night when I was with my brother" I said and his brother handed me the jacket "thanks" I said checking the pocket for the cards "so Aidan was this the girl you were talking about how much you regretted what ever you said to make her mad?" the brother said "yes she is, Oh and Patrick why don't you go do something in the office away from this general area" Aidan said glaring at his brother "sure thing little brother" Patrick said ruffling up Aidan's hair and leaving "soo" I said looking at the ground "what ever I did or said I'm sorry, Im sorry for every stupid thing I've ever done or said" he said and I kissed him on the lips, and hugged him "I'm sorry, it was my fault, apparently I've always liked to go out with a bang ever since I was little, and that fight was just something I did so you would remember me... drunk me isn't very smart" I said "its fine, and I certainly did remember" he said smiling and kissing me again "I feel terrible, I made the girls leave without saying goodbye to them and I feel absolutely terrible" I said "don't worry about it, why don't we just accidentally happen to be in the same place at the same time" he said and my phone rang again "Adam, I told you I would be there soon... oh don't, your not even to the cabin yet" I said hanging up "sorry my brother is... I love him to death and would do anything for him but he gets on my very last nerve more then the other two" I said and he hugged me again "then you should probably go" he said "give me your phone" I said putting my number in "text me when ever" I said kissing him on the lips and walking out I drove to the Cabin, which wasn't really a cabin by any means it's like my parents ginormous house in Atlanta which is where I grew up, I only moved to Savannah for the job the rest of my friends live in Atlanta.... the only difference between the two is that one has a pretty view, surrounded by trees and is covered in wood logs and the other is a brick house with a pool and is in a gated community.... I had no fun as a teenager because of that gate... But I pulled into the drive and out came my entire family... what am I missing here? "what's going on?" I asked as they surrounded me in a group hug... they don't get affectionate in big groups like this... "were just glad your here" my mom said kissing me on the cheek and dragging me inside... prepare for begging for forgiveness and going to mass and confession... "So how was your trip to Charleston?" my brother Peter asked putting his arm around me protectively and I glared at Adam "what have you done?" I asked "all I did was tell them about your trip" he said and I launched my self at him but Peter pulled me back into the couch "I hate you" I said to Adam "sorry" he said shrugging "my trip was fine" I said "it was more then fine according to what Adam told us" Michael said sitting down "well guess what Adam I got my jacket and it turns out... I actually don't know what it turns out to be but I saw him at the restaurant and his brother is the owner and.... I actually don't know, you win" I said taking my phone out "so you saw him again" Adam said moving closer. "guys I love you I really do, but were sitting together on 2 couch cushions and there is one for the entire family" I said but they just moved closer together squishing me "oh our little sweet Caroline has grown up so much remember when we held her in our arms?" Adam said to Michael and Peter who then grabbed me and held me in their arms "this is not fun" I said as my phone got a text and Peter grabbed it from me and read it out loud keeping it just out if my reach "Hey Caroline, it's Aidan" he said "oooo, so his name is Aidan" Michael said smiling keeping me in his arms "I think ill text him back" Peter said "I hate all of you" I said "you know a picture is worth a thousand words" Adam said an they held my arms down and smiled and I frowned crossing my arms "and send" Peter said smiling "what did you say" I asked hearing it ring again and they texted back and forth for a while and they would not let me have the phone even after letting me go they held it out of my 5'2 1/2'' reach... I'm very proud of that half so proud in fact that I got a shirt that said so... "here you can have it back its about to die" Peter said a few hours later and I took it and ran to get my charger plugged it in and went through the text messages... Peter didn't say it wasn't me and he totally made Aidan mad... I called Aidan

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry, my brother took my phone away and started texting you and just now gave it back I am so sorry" I said leaving a message. "Please please please forgive me" I muttered before walking out
"Hey Caroline, why don't you come out and play with us?" Michael called as I walked down the stairs "are you going to give me a black eye like last time?" I asked remembering how they called my name throwing the ball at the same time and it hit me in the eye... I'm like my brothers accidental punching bag.. but sometimes I swear it isn't an accident
