I took another swig of my beer as I stood there. All three of my other dipshit friends had found a girl to talk too. All I had was my beer... although I kept seeing another person move around inside the house and a part of me wished she would just come out. The other three girls were pretty... surely the fourth one would be of a similar substance... or maybe not, maybe that was why she was hiding away inside. Then again, this was supposed to be a relaxing week, away from work. Nothing but beer, steaks, and poker. But as I glanced at my friends, their faces showing more than just an interest in their bodies, chatting up the girls, I knew I might as well just throw all expectations out the door.

I set my beer down on the kitchen counter and began to prepare the steaks. At least I had the consistency of the meat to work with. That was something I could handle any day of the week. I knocked the old stereo system with my elbow, turning it on, hoping whatever had last been played was decent enough to listen to as I worked.

Had I known that the last CD to be played was the soundtrack of Cats, I would have just left it alone. But I didn't. "What the hell is that?"
