"Athena, Yuzuru is planning to take his life!" She said, trying to catch her breath. The news startled all of us in the room.

"What?"

I grabbed my bag and ran with Daphgne. ]She told me that she just came back after helping a teacher when she saw Yuzuru on the top of the building screaming my name. 

"How could you be so sure that I'm the Athena he's talking about?" I said while running.

"Didn't he clearly told you before that you're the only Athena for him now?"

I was lost for words when I saw Yuzuru standing at the edge of the building, looking straight ahead. His face is blank, I can't read what he's feeling. I could see his friends trying to talk him out but he just threatened to jump if they step any closer. I searched for the crowd and saw Athena and her friends, mouth gaped open because of the horrifying sight. From her eyes I could feel the fear. 

"Athena!"

I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone called my name. One of his friends came down the building panting and held my hand, begging. "Please, talk to Yuzuru. We can't convince him to stop doing this! Please! You are our only hope in saving him!" His knees fell to the ground and tears came running down to his face.

"If you don't come here in 10 seconds, I will jump and end my life here!" Yuzuru screamed with all his might. 

"10!...9!"

Without even knowing my feet started to run towards the building. I could enter the track and field club because of my speed.

"8!..7!"

But what if he's talking to the other Athena? And I'm just assuming he's asking for me because he has been pestering me all day at school? Did I get too confident?

"6!...5!"

Why am I thinking of this at the moment? Someone is about to end his life! Save the embarrassment for later and deal with this situation for now. I reached for the door and swung it open. 

"Yuzuru!" I shouted. His back tensed like he was surprised before looking at me. His friends made some way for me as I walked towards him.

"You're here," He smiled.

"Of course, I'm here! You dumbass! Get your butt down here in this instant!" 

"I'm about to jump in this building and you're still talking like that? I'm hurt," He clutched his chest, acting in pain. "I want to ask you one last time,"

"Okay. You can ask me your question but can you please down?" I asked, scared that he might accidentally lose his balance and fall. I've never been in this kind of situation before and it's scaring the hell out of me. He shook his head as a no.

"I've been courting you a few weeks now. I've done everything I could to please you or at least change your mind about me. I tried helping you but you would push me away every time. You're even hiding from me like I'm some scary monster," He said, looking at me directly.

"I'm feeling like even if I try my hardest, I won't still be enough for you. I won't be able to make you say yes. So I'm resorting to this as my final resolve,"

"I'm not the only girl in the world, Yuzuru! There are many girls out there, single, who is more deserving of your love than me!" I said, slowly stepping forward.

"One last time, will you be my girlfriend, Athena?" He said. 

Should I just say yes then take it back afterwards? But then if I do that, he will do this suicide attempt again. But this time, he will not wait for anyone. He's a great guy for sure but he's definitely not agreeing on my boyfriend checklist! 

"I guess I'll take that as a no," Yuzuru said before smiling at me. He spread out his hands like he's ready to fall. He pushed his one foot forward and looked back at me. His mouth formed a 'bye' and I just screamed.

"Yes! Yes! I'll be your girlfriend!" I cried. 

Waters came rushing down my cheeks like waterfall. My hands trembled as it crawled to my chest, trying to calm myself. He can't just die because of me! I didn't mean for him to feel unworthy and useless! I thought he's doing this to make fun of me! But he's deadly serious that he even put his life on the line.

"You what?"

I opened my eyes and saw Yuzuru standing in front of me smiling. I wept in tears as I punched his chest. 

"I was so scared, you piece of shi-" I was shushed when his hands covered my mouth. He leaned in and whispered to my ears.

"Say it again,"

"Huh?"

"You do know what I'm talking about. Say it again," 

"I will be your girlfriend,"

I flinched when he kissed the lower part of my ear and hugged me tightly. He then put his arms around me and we went down of that building together. I saw Athena and her eyes were red. She must've been so worried for him. When she saw me looking at her, she walked away with her friends. 

My only resolve now would be prepare for the worst thing to happen as I go on my life as Yuzuru's girlfriend.
