Nakipagkamay ako kay Ms. Eunida matapos ang naging meeting namin. Nakapagpaalam na rin siya sa akin at lahat pero nanatili ako sa upuan ko-- malalim ang iniisip.

Biglang lumapit sa 'kin si Gavin.

"Betina! So what happened? Did she approved? What did she said?"

I sighed inwardly. Since it's my first time doing this, I never thought this would be more complicated. Mangmang ako sa pagiging event coordinator kaya ang akala ko ay magbibigay lang ako ng mabubulaklak na salita sa kanila tungkol sa charity. 'Yun ang ilan kong nabasa sa last party document nila. Little did I know, I have to explain in detail about the party-- like the theme, place, benefeciaries, etc.

And I think I messed up.

"She rejected...?" muling tanong ni Gavin sa mababang tono.

Tinignan ko siya, "You think so?"

"You looked gloomy after your talk, so yeah I think she rejected," sumandal siya sa kan'yang upuan at maliit akong nginitian, "It’s okay. We can try it again next time. The party schedule is not yet set so we still have a lot of time. But what happened? Where did you go wrong?"

Uminom ako sa hawak kong iced tea at marahang nagpunas ng labi, saka ko siya muli tinignan at nginisian, "You really think I failed negotiating with her?"

Kumorte ng bilog ang kan'yang bibig, "S-So you mean..."

"She didn’t reject my invitation---"

"You almost got me there! Nagsisimula na ‘kong mag-isip ng gagawin natin sa susunod para hindi na ito mangyari pero buti na lang hindi ‘yon totoo!" nagagalak n'yang litanya, "Wow, Betina... you’re amazing considering this is your first time!"

I smiled, "Thank you. But actually, hindi ko ‘to napaghandaan."

"Seryoso, Gavin," natatawa ako sa kan'ya, "Tinanong ako ni Ms. Eunida kung ano raw ba ang theme, benefeciaries, schedule, and place ng party. I went blank that time, I didn’t even think about that and almost end the meeting. But as I was in the middle of my dilemma, I came up with an idea. That’s where I begin to tackle about the details."

He was astonished, "Wow. So you made an impromptu meeting with her."

I shrugged, "Kind of."

"Amazing! You really are smart, Betina! Ughh, I’m so jealous," tila nagtatampo ito sa ideya.

"What’s with you?"

"Claudius, Seven, Hailey and now you. You guys sure have an high I.Q. while Zen and I have only 50 percent of it." nalulugmok n'yang bulalas habang ngumunguso.

Natawa ako, "Hey! That’s too low!"

"Let me reprhase it--- you guys have 115 percent of it, Zen have an average of 85 percent and me... oh, I’m sure I only have 50 percent."

So feeling n'ya hindi siya matalino dahil lang do'n? This cutie...

"Stop saying that. You cannot pass the med exam if you’re not qualified. See? Nakakuha ka nga ng kursong kagaya ko, e. Ibig sabihin ay matalino ka rin." pagsasabi ko ng totoo. Hindi gano'n kadaling pumasa sa kursong doctor of veterinary medicine. Kailangan ay nakapag-review ka ng sandamakmak na aral mula ro'n.

Take note, kukunin mo palang 'yun-- pero kailangan atleast my alam ka na.

"But right now, I’m addicted to games. Sometimes I cannot focus on class."
