Chapter 11 ~ Stay Away

Wally's POV

Artemis has been avoiding me the whole trip since I kissed her. Like anywhere I go she stays clear of that area, I don't know what to do. I put my hands on my face.

"What's wrong with you?" Dick took a seat beside me.

"Nothing." I sat back on the couch,

"Dude, what's wrong?" I sighed and looked at him.

"I kissed Artemis."

"Finally.." Dick mumbled.

"Seriously." I glared at him,

"Listen Wally, we both know you don't want to be with Linda so what's stopping you from ending it with her. Artemis is your type on paper, and i've never seen you so happy around someone as much as you are around Arty." I hate to admit it but he's right. I never really thought about being with Linda for the rest of my life.

"You need to talk to Linda when we get back. AND to Artemis cause she is obviously ignoring you." I nodded as he stood up and walked to his room. I got up to look for Artemis, I searched every room and found her in the kitchen by herself.

"Are you avoiding me?" I asked before she noticed me, she looked over and sighed.

"No.." She fiddled with her water bottle.

"I think you are." I walked towards her a leaned on the counter. She looked down,

"Is it because I kissed you?" I scratched the back of my neck. She shook her head no.

"Well kinda." I sighed and looked down at my feet,

"It's not that I didn't want you to kiss me but you have a girlfriend! And i'm not good for you Wally you deserve better." She started to walk away, I quickly grabbed her wrist turned her towards me.

"You can't make that call! I can make my own decisions, how do you know your not good for me? I don't think you understand how happy you have made me in this short time i've known you. I love being around you. I love seeing you smile. I love being someone who MAKES you smile." She looked up at me.

"I'm no good, Wally. You'll just get hurt." She pulled away and walked to her room.

"Artemis!-" I tried to run after her but was greeted with raven haired girl.

"Just give her time, she hasn't been the same for awhile now." What does she mean?

"What happened?" she shook her head.

"It's not my place to tell you. If she wants you to know she'll tell you, she doesn't really open up about it." I nodded as she walked past me.

Artemis's POV

I want to be with him. But i'll just put him in danger. Plus he has a girlfriend! Do you really want to be a home wrecker, Artemis? I sat on the floor with my back to the door holding my knees. I can't put anyone else in danger, so it's best for him to stay away. I started to pack up since we were all leaving tomorrow, I grabbed everything and stuffed it in my suitcase. I sighed and got ready for bed.

I slowly opened my eyes and rolled out of bed. I heard a few people talking in the hallway, so I grabbed my bag and began to open the door. I stopped in my tracks as I heard someone talking,

"It's alright she'll come around, Wally." he sighed.

"Whatever you say." I opened the door and was greeted with two set of eyes looking at me. It was Dick and Wally. I quickly walked past them and waited by the front door.

"Hey hot stuff." Cameron smirked at me.

"Not now, Cam." I looked down waiting for the bus to arrive. After 30 minutes waiting everyone came to the door as the bus pulled up in front of the house. I put my bags up and sat in a seat in the back of the bus, I rested my head against the window.

"Can I sit with you?" I looked over at the redhead. I shrugged as he sat down, I placed earbuds in my ears. I looked over every few minutes at the sleeping ginger, his freckles were speckled all over his face. His hair was messy but in an attractive way if that makes any sense. His eyes started to flutter open, I quickly turned away with a shade of pink growing on my cheeks.

"Staring at me?" he smiled while rubbing his eyes.

"You wish." I rolled my eyes.

"Don't deny it, Arty." I shook my head,

"Whatever, Baywatch."

After a few hours of Wally bugging me, we were finally back. I quickly made my way out of the bus and started to walk home.

"Hey Arty, wait up!" I kept walking as a the redhead ran to keep up with me.

"Can I walk you home?" I looked at him,

"No Wally go home." He frowned.

"What is your problem? Stop pushing me away!" I stopped and looked down.

"It's like you don't want to be around me or something! I've been nothing but nice to you, i've pretty much confessed my feelings for you, and you wont tell me anything.." He ran his fingers through his hair.
