Chapter 8 ~ I'm Going

Artemis's POV

It's been 3 days since my mom got out of the hospital, when my dad shot her legs it permanently put her in a wheelchair. She's adjusted to it quite quickly, break starts tomorrow and that's when everyone is leaving for California. I don't want to leave my mom by herself but she keeps insisting that I go. So the only way I was gonna go on that trip is if someone was there for her, I called my 'Uncle' Oliver Queen. He's not technically my uncle he's just a good family friend.

"Hey Ollie" I held my phone to my ear,

"Hey Art"

"My mom is insisting I go on a trip with my friends, can you please come check on her while i'm gone." I played with a strand of my hair.

"Of course" I smiled,

"Thank you so much, I owe you one. Bye Ollie."

"Bye Artemis." I hung up and walked to the living room,

"Artemis you better get to packing." I looked at my mom.

"Are you sure you want me to go?" she rolled her eyes,

"Yes, go i'll be fine. Now go get packed." She pushed me out of the living room. I laughed and walked off into my room. I went in my closet and grabbed a green suitcase, I opened it up and started packing shorts, shirts, and bathing suits. I also packed a few sweatshirts. I knew it would be hot in Cali so I wasn't going to pack heavy clothes. I grabbed my phone and called Zatanna,

"Hey Zee"

"Hey Art, what are you doing?"

"Packing for the trip. Your coming right?"

"Yes Artemis for the tenth time i'm coming" She laughed.

" I just don't wanna be there on my own Zee."

"You have other friends Art, but i'm coming so don't worry"

"Okay okay, i'll see you in the morning. We are meeting by that coffee shop in front of Gotham U."

"I'll see ya bye" I hung up and finished packing. I got up in my bed and turned on Netflix.

Wally's POV

I put my suitcase by the door and walked in the living room sitting down on the couch. Linda walked in and sat next to me.

"I'm gonna miss you." she hugged me. I hugged her back, she was there for me after everything happened with my dad. But I never liked her like that. I love her I do, but I don't know if she's who I want to be with for the rest of my life.

"Im gonna miss you too" I haven't felt feelings for her in a very long time. I don't think I ever really have, and I need to tell her. I can't keep leading her on.

"I'm gonna grab a snack and then head to bed. I have to get up early." she nodded and I stood up walking to the kitchen. I grabbed a bag of chips and a pop. I walked to the bedroom and set an alarm to get up in the morning.
