Chapter 9

It's Emma's dad's birthday and I just got the invitation.

Emma surprise me at the library where I'm studying.

She likes covering my eyes from behind and I admit it's a bit cute.

"So are you coming?" Emma smile.

"Well," I try to smile at her.

"Please no excuses! I really want you to come" She pouts her lips.

"Fine" I roll my eyes and smile.

"YES!! I knew I could count on you" Emma smile.

"Always" I smile at her.

"So how do you like America so far?" Emma winks at me.

"Emma I'm almost a month here. I'm slowly getting used to it" I frown.

"I'm happy" She smiles as she brushes my hair gently with her fingers.

"Aren't you gonna invite Brixton?" I sigh.

"Brixton? God no! The worst I can do at his birthday is to introduce him to my future boyfriend" She chuckles.

"Let me guess, he's strict?" I joke."No! More like uhm, I'm embarrassed" Emma smile awkwardly.

"Why? Brixton is handsome and not to mention he's so hot and he's in the football team!" I smile brightly.

"I'm just not ready yet" Emma tries to smile.

"Okay, I'll respect that" I smile awkwardly.

"What are you guys talking about?" Brixton smile as pops out of nowhere.

"What the fuck Brixton? You can't keep doing that!" I startle.

"Sorry" He grins.

"You're a douche" I frown.

"So Emma, I was thinking maybe we could have lunch together?" Brixton smile at Emma.

Emma blushes as she smiles at Brixton.

"Uhm I was actually planning to eat with Casey" Emma blush.

"Oh! that's not a problem because Barnhardt is coming with us" Brixton smile as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.

"You're inviting him?" Emma ask.

"Oh, I don't need to invite him! If he wants to come he can come" Brixton smile.

"Actually, I'm a bit busy right now" I try to smile.

"Busy?" Brixton frown.

"Yeah, I had to tutor someone at Lake Crest" I lie.

"Who?" Brixton ask.

"Kieran" I lie again.

"Who the fuck is Kieran?" Brixton frown.

"so you guys enjoy your alone time together okay?" I smile at both of them.

"do you like him?" Brixton ask.

"Like who?" I frown at Brixton.

"Kieran" Brixton frowns.

"None of your business Romeo and if I do would you love me any less??" I roll my eyes.

"So you're not gonna join us huh?" Emma sigh.

"Look, you guys are like my siblings. Nancy Wheeler, Mike Wheeler but I refuse to be the Third Wheeler" I smile at them.

"Nice Reference" Brixton smile.

The bell rings and it's time for the next period.

"I have to go" I sigh as I put my books inside my bag.
