GUYS, WHAT THE HELL, 1MILLION READS.

IM SO GRATEFUL FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.

Who would have ever thought that a random book I created a year and a half ago would have amassed this amount of love, care, and support?

I appreciate all of you! From my day one readers, sara, awditi, ayas, haitianprincess, rooty, etc, to my very recent ones.

Through this book, I made a lot of friends who im keeping for life,(Awditi, Thea, Amber, Gwen, Sara, Aneesa, Rida, Lilly, Sanjukta, Sophie, Esha, Evie, Heather, Chrissy, Ariana, Bean, Ommy, the list really goes on)

i grew so much as a writer (you can clearly tell from the evolvement of my chapters) and i had something interesting to focus on, which drew my attention from some personal issues i faced at the time.

When I started this book, i never intended for it go down the road that it did. It was supposed to be a non-serious, just for fun, somewhat cliche wattpad novel because i just wanted to test myself and create something on wattpad.

little did i know that this would be as deep, as thought-provoking, and as eye-opening as it is.

as i wrote chapter by chapter, i realised that it wasn't me creating the story, but the characters manifesting themselves and taking over their lives like they rightfully should.

Issues such as child abuse, parental deliquency, mental illnesses, sexual abuse, adultery, toxic relationships, were carefully raised in the story and handled so that there would be no glorification of such issues.

These characters were flawed. Most, heavily flawed. Some even neurotic, (cough Brie cough Florence)

Others were angels and advisors as well.

I love that I was able to emphasize on the importance of growth, change, love, forgiveness, sacrifice, closure, peace, and hope.

I have been tempted to write a bonus chapter where Lara and Jayden actually get together, as per hundreds of you's wishes. but anytime i look back, anytime i go over how their relationship went, i find myself drawing back from the idea.

There was toxicity, especially whenever arguments ensued. And I can't for the life of me, say it's okay to be in a relationship where your past is inconsiderately thrown into your face after every misunderstanding. time and time again. I know I personally wouldn't commit to someone like that, so why should my characters? I try to be as realistic as possible, even if that means ruining the main ship of it all.

so you've got to understand this, or just deal with it.

they were cute when they finally were an item and had completed the 30 day rule, so much that sometimes I wondered why I let it go downhill at the lakehouse when jayden had received the message about his father.

but it was bound to happen that way, since it was written. and we've got to accept that.

my main goal as i neared the end was to project a message of S E L F  L O V E. this was the happy ending in my eyes. it doesn't necessarily always have to be the ship ending up together.

finding yourself, forgiving yourself, growing, and loving yourself,  after journeying through a storm is what i call a worthwhile ending.

i also want you to know(yes, you reading this) that no matter what you've done, or where you've been, or how your life used to be in the past, if You want things to change, things will change. If YOU want to change, You will change. If you want to grow, You will grow, and if you want life to be better, hun, it WILL BE BETTER.

trust this, and just take care of yourself. don't let yourself go. go shower, go eat, go do something towards that future that you so desperately want to have. And watch it unfold little by little before your eyes.

so, a number of you have requested for a sequel. A bonus chapter? sure. a sequel? in terms of writing one, i'm not really sure. i can't promise. however, we could keep an eye out for one when this book is adapted into a movie. (in the near future lol) once i strenghten my filmmaking knowledge.
but before that, i'll publish this book very sooon.
