Since Eleanor was running around solving her own mystery she missed the whole seeing a wooden man turn back into a boy.
But here she was sat in Granny's, in a booth with her headphones in playing Rick Springfield to help her process her information.
She had the journals stacked up beside her, coffee in her hand just as she stared at the photo she had recovered.
Her world seemed to be piecing together but it also seemed to be crashing. And in this time she wished that a certain pirate could distract her in the times she was confused.
"Hey!" Someone said, startling Eleanor by dropping her cup on the table, smashing and everyone turning to her. She took out her headphones as Granny came over.
"I'm so sorry Granny I'll pay for the cup." Eleanor said moving her pictures and journals from the table.
"It's alright dear. Just a broken cup." Eleanor nodded as she looked to Emma and Henry in front of her.
"Oh god, I didn't even see you two."
"What's up with you Ellie?" Emma asked and she shook her head.
"Nothing I'm just a bit on edge with everything."
"Why? Henry asked and Eleanor smiled.
"It's just a little thing." Emma looked to Eleanor who smiled before packing away her journals.
"Shouldn't you be headed to school?" Eleanor asked raising her eyebrows.
"Yes he should and I need to meet David and Mary Margaret." Eleanor grabbed her bag standing.
"Come on kid, I'll walk you and let your mom get away." Emma chuckled before giving Eleanor a hug.
"What aren't you telling me?" She whispered to the girl who smiled and whispered back.
"It's another story. I'll wait till Henry's not around." Emma nodded before the three left, Eleanor and Henry heading the opposite way.
"So what's with all the journals?" Henry asked as Eleanor had her arm wrapped around his shoulder.
"My research. I'm no where near closer to figuring out my mystery." Eleanor explained and Henry nodded.
"Maybe you should give it a break. Maybe do something else like help my mom at the station." Eleanor chuckled as they reached the bus.
"No, there's no help needed there. I think I'll just take up a hobby." Henry looked to her and asked "Like what?"
"I don't know yet kid. But something."
She watched as Henry got on the bus and it drove away before Eleanor walked towards the docks.
As much as she hated to admit it, Eleanor never realised how much she missed the pirate. The smirk that made her want to melt into the floor, his striking blue eyes and his presence.
Even though his cocky attitude made her roll her eyes and want to punch him, in ways it just made her want to grab him and kiss him.
Something about him intrigued her, she could see that he had been broken a couple times before yet she could see there was some form of a man, a man who just wanted to be loved.
As Eleanor looked to the journal, her pen started to doodle on an empty page. She sketched out his features that were imprinted on her mind.
The Captain had changed her perspective on the infamous Hook that she had known from the stories and from the movies.
As Eleanor drew, she didn't understand how she could miss him. He was a villain but then again, she had ran away from everyone who ever loved her.
This causes Eleanor to not admit what happens inside her body. The feelings she gets when she's got him alone, wether that's him being a gentlemen or him being an awful pirate.
She felt as though the Captain simply had more answers for her yet, with him lost in New York confused her. How did he leave Storybrooke, and still know to go after his crocodile.
Without even noticing Eleanor had scribbled the pirate before taking out the page and folding it, putting it in the journal and throwing it in her bag.
Storybrooke seemed empty to Eleanor, without the Captain and the Jolly Roger, her photo was in complete. During the nights Eleanor would sit in Granny's living room to her B&B with Neal opposite her whilst her girlfriend showered.
They two shared stories of what they had gotten up to since they previously met.
"So do you have any more ideas who you're related to." Eleanor chuckled, taking a swig of her drink in her flask before reaching into her pocket.
"I found a name inside my room. A Jacqueline Evans and as I found her grave there was a flower surrounded by dead grass. And that flower was a Camellia." Eleanor explained as Neal furrowed his brows.
"How is that possible? The only time I've seen a Camellia is from the painting..."
"That I used to have in my apartment. My mother painted it in whilst she was pregnant with me. And they are almost impossible to grow but how could just one grow, here in Storybrooke?" Eleanor asked, still confused.
"Magic." Neal replied and Eleanor nodded.
"So I took out the flower. And found this." She handed the man the photo as he looked.
"Is that you?" He asked pointing to the kid as she nodded.
"But that's you." He then said pointing at the woman behind her. Eleanor nodded before saying "The only difference is my hair is chocolate, closely black where as hers is auburn, an almost dirty blonde."
"So what does it mean?" Neal asked as Eleanor sat back in her seat taking another drink.
"That woman is similar to a photo that was on Hooks ship. Captain Grace O'Malley." Neals eyes widened as she then said "It gets more interesting, look at the back."
Neal turned around the photo and read out the black neat writing.
"Eleanor and Grace McKingley." She nodded and then Neal handed the photo back.
