Eleanor walked along the streets, trying to ignore the stares that she was receiving from the strangers who passed by her shoulders.
The town didn't seem so helpful, yet everyone knew she hadn't been in town before. However one place looked slightly more appealing in the town that seemed so dull at first glance.
The young girl ran across the road, being careful to miss the cars that were coming up and down. She stopped outside the 80s style diner and smiled. Shoving her hands in her denim pockets she ran up the steps and opened the door.
The bell rung, announcing Eleanor's arrival into the diner. As all the eyes went to her she helped and moved to the woman serving behind the bar.
"Hi. Can you help me?"
"You're not from here." The woman said as she was writing, not once looking up to meet the woman's eyes.
"No I'm not and I need some help."
The woman finally looked up to Eleanor's sarcastic smile as she sat down and asked a simple question.
"So, what the hell is this place?"
"It's Storybrooke." A voice spoke from beside her. Eleanor looked to her side and saw a young boy stood there.
"I think I know that kid, I mean where has this town came from? Because I can goddamn assure you that this town was never here before." The kid walked around and sat on the stool beside the young girl.
"Not to ordinary people it's not. So tell me, who are you?"
Eleanor smiled and held her hand out "I'm Eleanor but call me Ellie."
"I'm Henry. Now what's your story?"
Eleanor adjusted her seat and folded her arms looking to the boy in such confusion.
"My story? Well it's nothing to be proud of. Dead Mother, psychotic Father. No siblings and a bit of a runaway. No fairy tale." Eleanor then turned to the woman and smiled.
"Can I have a soda?"
"Only if you pay." Eleanor flung the five dollar bill onto the table and smiled.
"Make it two."
Ellie turned back to the kid who had a book out on the bench in front of him.
"Dude I was kidding about the fairy tale."
"But I'm not. You have to be in here to get here." Eleanor looked at the book, the pictures that were among the pages. The woman handed over the two soda bottles to Eleanor who smiled.
