"Alison, stop!" my mother collapsed on the floor.

She caught me with the pills again.

"Why, Aly, why?" she was violently sobbing. My mother collapsed on the floor while I sat on her lap. I couldn't breathe and my head was throbbing. My anxiety level was higher than the universe.

"I can't live without them, mom. I miss them too damn much!" I was hyperventilating. I couldn't speak and my hair was stuck on to my face from all of the tears.

"You need a new life and a new start, baby," my mother whispered. "How about Sydney, Australia."
