Lisanne's camera contained pictures from April 1st, showing the girls had taken a trail at the overlook of the Continental Divide and wandered into the wilderness hours before calling 911, there was no signs of anything unusual.

On April 8th, NINETY photos were taken between 1am and 4am, deep in the jungle and in near-complete darkness. That's a photo every 2 minutes. Only a few were usable, one showed a river, one showed twigs, one showed toilet paper and a mirror on a rock and one showed the back Lisanne's head with what looks like blood on her temple.

The discovery of the bag led to new researches along the Culebra. Lisanne's shorts were found zipped and neatly folded on top of a rock a few kilometers away from where the bag was found, although witnesses later claimed they were found in the river itself not neatly folded.
Two months later a horrific discovery was made...
A boot with a foot was found along with a pelvis. Soon 33 bones were found scattered along the riverbank. DNA confirmed the foot belonged to Kris, the pelvis to Lisanne. Lisanne's bones still had some skin attached to them but Kri's appeared to have been bleached.
An anthropologist stated that there are no scratches of any kind to the bones, none that are natural or cultural.
No one knows what happened to the girls.
A/N: what's your opinion on this case? What do you think happened? For me the timeline throws it a bit off but there are many theories out there.
