Vote&Comment please💕 "Can we talk?" I asked Marcus. I honestly felt the need to explain what exactly happened. Everything just went downhill last night and it honestly wasn't sitting right with me.
"Look skye. You don't need to explain yourself. It's over it's done with."
"Obviously I do Marcus because you're acting different around me now. It's like we're right back at square 1. I like you Marcus, and I know you like me too. Don't let this define me. Define us."
"You're right Skye. I do look at you differently. He said something that stuck with me, what did you do that you're not telling me?"he asked and my heart sunk. This was a situation that I didn't want to speak on ever again. The only reason Twan knew is because he was there when it happened. It's a situation I'm not ready to talk about
"Marcus I want to tell you, I really do but I'm just not ready to speak on it yet. It's really hard for me to think and talk about. I just—" a few tears had ran down my face at this point and I heard him sigh
"It's okay Skye" he got up and hugged me "you don't have to tell me if you're not ready. I just didn't like that he had something over you like that. You can talk to me about it when you're ready" he said and I smiled a little bit. It was so comforting to hear that because I really was starting to like him.
"Let's have a redo, but this time we can go to my house and talk. Maybe cook something together just have fun with no distractions"
"I'd like that" I smiled
"Okay ride home with me after school and we can pick up some snacks. I'll take you back here later to pick up your car"
"Okay" I smiled and took my seat next to him because I could tell the teacher was getting ready to start class.
Throughout first and second period all I could think about was tonight with Marcus. I just knew that tonight would have no interruptions. Just us. Vibing.
When lunch came around I decided to go off campus with Yeri.
"I want Popeyes"
"I want chick-fil-a"
"Popeyes got the better chicken sandwich though"
"Girl I don't even want no chicken sandwich. Im tryna get a salad"
"Since when do you eat salads—"
"I been eating salads. I just haven't been eating them as much often. I'm tryna get back on track"
"Okay. Chipotle?"
"Yeah that's cool with me" I said before pulling off and making my way to chipotle.
"Play one of your songs" Yeri said
"Alright" I said pulling up the most recent song I wrote called have you

"What makes you think that" I asked. Why her mind automatically go to him? Was it that obvious?
"I'm feeling you I know you feeling me as well? It's very obvious" she laughed "but this definitely the song you should lay down in the studio. It go hard."
"Bet. I was actually struggling to figure out which track I wanted to lay down. I actually had enough songs to make an album, I'm always writing something"
"This definitely the one. They lyrics good, your voice sound good in it and it's relatable. I'd add it to my playlist."
"Bet"
We got out the car to go into Chipotle and I saw Twan. My heart started beating fast and it seemed like my body couldn't move.
"Yeri get back in the car"
"Huh"
"Get back in the car" I repeated and got back into the car and so did I
"What was that about?"
"You know the ex who I was telling you showed up last night and ruined everything?"
"Yeah"
"That's him. Back when we were together the entire relationship was toxic. I used to tell him personal stuff and he'd hold it against me. He used to hit me on occasion too but I felt like it was something I had to deal with at the time or that he was just trying to help me. Now I know how wrong I was. I'm sure he'd still find a way to still hit me now. He didn't do it last night because there were so many people around plus Marcus was there"
"Aww naww let me at him" Yeri opened the car door but I pulled her right back in.
"No Yeri. He's not even worth it"
"Is he following you around or something?"
"I don't know. How did he know where I was last night and now? You think it's a coincidence ?"
"I don't know, but I know that this isn't anything to play with"
"I know, I know" I said backing out of my park
"Where are we going now?"
"Chick-fil-a I'm getting my salad"

"Okay so what snacks you tryna get?"
"Probably like some popcorn, Oreos, Reese's. Stuff like that. I was thinking maybe we can have a movie night typa thing" I said and he smiled
"I mess with that idea. Let's go in"
