The still fire sat at the heart of the city, echoes of scream and terror filled the air, as if, it was a means to an end. The sky gleamed in darkness, there's no place the sun will set and new morning to arise. Dead bodies were scattered everywhere and the cries whispers together with the wind. They were running, hiding to safe haven and hoping for it to stop.

        It was chaos.

        A great havoc.

"Run my dear! Go!" She screamed, tears prickling at the edge of her eyes.

"N-no. Not without you." The child answered, clinging for dear life.

"They'll be here anytime soon." The lovers stood still; a decision should be made. "Take her." The man said, trying his best to gaze away and not meet her eyes.

"Take her with you. Take her to safety. Whatever happens, protect her." The man reminded over and over, looking at the boy they gave their trust with. There was a tint of grief in his eyes.

        "At all cost."

The woman knelt down and softly laid a peck on the child's forehead. Gazed at her innocent features. She was crying. She never thought she'd made a grave decision. But they had no choice. They had failed to protect their own people, great lives were lost and protecting their daughter's—it is a suicide. There's no guarantee and they have lost so much; they can't endure to lose another.

"Remember, I'll always love you forever, my dear."

        It came into a whisper.

        "Now go."

There was a loud echo of a horn, so low it resonated over the city. The glass windows came blasting in, broken into hundreds of pieces and falls on the floor like diamonds. The pillars that holds everything in place slowly swayed, it groaned as if the building will collapse anytime soon. And will fall into ruin.

A swift pull of the wind entered and different forms appeared—dark... not humans. And the air smelt of magic and sorcery.

        "Go!"

Her eyes widen as it unfolds. Such grief bellowed at her soul, she cannot unsee even how much she tries to close her eyes for clarity. In a young age, she should have known better. If only she could bring back time, she has done it a long time ago.

"Come!" The boy called, swiftly pulled a sword from its sheath. He held her hand tightly, never letting go and they started running.

Debris were falling and they needed to escape unless they wanted to be buried alive.

"Don't ever look back!" He yelled, shifting the sword in certain directions, protecting them... protecting her.
