Kakashi and Naruto, the latter of which had been looking back and forth at us with widened eyes and a confused expression, both turned to me with awed looks on their faces. "You beat him at his own game," Kakashi breathed. "In genjutsu. You."

"Sakura-chan, that's awesome!!" Naruto cheered. "Although, I have no idea what you're talking about. But still!!!"

I smiled at Naruto's warm display of support. "Thanks, Naru," I said, ruffling the blonde's hair. As we began to chat, Naruto filling me in animatedly on everything I had missed during the week I had spent in the hospital, I saw Kakashi's expression from the corner of my eye.

He seemed alarmed, worried, and...resigned.

I knew he was thinking of all the past geniuses of Konoha, and the fate which had befallen each and every one of them. I knew he was slowly connecting them in his mind...to me.

I sighed and reached out to pat his hair gently. His eye snapped up to meet mine, wide and ever-so-slightly despairing. I gave him the warmest smile I could.

Someday, I hope to heal you.

Third-person POV

Sasuke was not happy.

He had woken up in the middle of the night one week ago to his mother's worried exclamations and his father's solemn face. Upon asking what had happened, he'd learned that none other than his favorite older cousin, his best friend Sakura, and his precious nii-san were injured and in the hospital.

Then, he'd rushed on over to the hospital to see the three, only to be denied entry. The nurses had shooed him away, saying that they had to go heal them, blah blah blah. He'd huffed and whined to be let in, but to no avail.

The next day had seen his nii-san and cousin come back home. He'd jumped on them, relieved and happy to see that they were ok, and had begun to assail them with questions until they gently plucked him off their bodies and told him, not right now, Sasuke, we're a bit busy

A few days later, he'd gone to visit Sakura with Naruto. After hearing that she was in a coma, he'd begun to sniffle a bit before turning wide eyes on his mother and asking her if Sakura would be ok. She'd responded with a worried laugh and a yes dear, I'm sure she'll be fine. But he wasn't convinced.

So he'd marched with Naruto to the Konoha hospital and demanded to see Sakura Haruno. The nurses had sighed and let them both into her room, only after making them promise not to make a fuss and disturb the poor girl. Sasuke was beyond indignant at that. Who did they think he was? Naruto?

Then he'd seen the girl lying so still, so quiet on the bed, and he couldn't take it. He'd turned quickly to Naruto to tell him that he had something to do, he'd be right back and hurried out of the hospital to regain his composure.

When he calmed down, he realized that since he was out, he didn't see why he couldn't pick up a few flowers for his female best friend before returning to her room.

So he went to the Yamanaka flower shop, pointedly ignoring the squeals of the young Yamanaka girl—Ino, was it?—and asked the woman at the cashier for a bouquet of cherry blossoms. As cliche as that may have been, he didn't really know a thing about flowers. It was the best he could think of.

Holding a bundle of cherry blossoms in his hand, Sasuke walked back to the hospital, now with a spring in his step. His lips quirked upwards in a small smile, thinking of how pleasantly surprised Sakura would be when she woke up and saw the flowers by her bedside.

Imagine his surprise when he opened the door to see an already awake Sakura, hugging Naruto and conversing happily with a gravity-defying, silver-haired man that he'd never seen before.

His eye twitched, and the only thing he could think of was,

I feel left out.

Sakura's POV

The door opened and a grumpy Uchiha duckling stepped in.

"SASUGAY!" I screamed, jumping out of the bed and running to tackle him. He responded with a grunt and looked pointedly to the side, but I could see the little blush of relief that was forming on his cheeks. "Aww, were you worried about me?" I cooed, ruffling his hair. Another "hn" escaped his lips.

My eyes then caught the blob of pink in his hands. "AWW, DID YOU GET FLOWERS FOR ME?" I cooed even louder, pulling him in for another hug that made him wheeze.  "Aww, come here you, you ladies man."

Sasuke slapped me on the head. "Just take it, you annoying girl," he growled under his breath, his ears tinged red.

I giggled slightly. "Thanks, Sausage." Then, I heard a sound from the door. My eyes widened when I saw who was there.

"Gramps...?"

The Hokage looked at me, and I saw a twinkle of relief in his eyes. In the next second, it was replaced by a cold sternness and a deep, profound sadness.

"Sakura, Kakashi—you two have been summoned to testify at Danzo's trial."
