“And this,” I begin, but have to cough yet again. “This is why I haven’t b-been able t-to talk to anyone.” I stand up from where I had been sitting on my couch and start pacing back and forth across the room. “I think I’m going insane.”

“You mean you haven’t already gotten there?” Rayne teases.

“Ra-ayne,” Morgan scolds, elbowing her red-haired friend. “This is a serious situation.”

“I was just trying to lighten things up a bit,” the redhead grumbles.

“I have a purple elephant in my attic,” I blurt in an attempt to get the girls’ attention.

“Elephants aren’t purple,” Rayne retorts.

“You live in an apartment; you don’t have an attic,” Morgan points out.

“Oh, right, I forgot about that,” Rayne mumbles.

I chuckle at the banter between the two girls, but catch myself when I realize that I’m jealous of how easily they seem to get along. “On a more serious note, I was thinking we should take a break from all the mushy stuff. We could order pizza or something while we watch a show,” I suggest.

“What show?” Morgan asks at the same time as Rayne asks, “What kind of pizza?”

“How about I let you two explore my Netflix while we agree upon what kinds of pizza we want?” I offer in response. I walk over to the TV cabinet and pull out the remote and an Xbox controller, holding down the center button as I, once again, join my friends on the sofa. “Do either of you know how to use this?”

“I have an Xbox 360 at home,” Rayne states, taking the controller from my hand.

After what seems like forever (though it was really only 30 minutes), the three of us finally manage to decide on what kinds of pizza to get, as well as which show to watch.

“Alright, just let me call in our order before you start the first episode,” I say as Rayne reaches forward to hit play.

“Fine, but hurry up,” she whines. She leans back and pouts for a moment before cracking a smile. “Seriously, I’m getting hungry.”

“When are you not hungry?” Morgan questions.

“When I’m asleep… No wait, I’m pretty sure I’ve had dreams in which I was hungry,” the former admits.

I leave the two girls in my livingroom and take out my cellphone. I continue walking until I’m standing in the kitchen, having dialled the number for my favourite pizza place along the way. I order three large pizzas: one with pepperoni, one with chicken, and one with extra cheese.

I head to my refrigerator and pull out a bottle of water and a few of cans of Dr. Pepper, then grab a few more from the case in the pantry before making my way back into the livingroom. “Unrefrigerated Dr. Pepper for you,” I mumble as I hand a lukewarm can to Morgan. “Cold can for you,” I add as I pass one of the refrigerated cans to Rayne. “And all the rest for me!”

“Nuh-uh! You’re gonna have to share those with us, mister,” Rayne growls teasingly.

I set the cans down on the coffee table before picking up the Xbox controller once again. “Fine, I’ll share; I don't like fizzy drinks much anyways. Those are more for when the guys are over. Now are we going to start this episode or would you like to wait for the pizza to get here?”

“Go ahead and start it; we can always pause when the pizza shows up,” Morgan replies.

“Yeah, plus I want you both to see the awesomeness that is Sherlock,” Rayne pipes up.
