"oh-ho-HO! ah, jeez, you've got it bad, don't you?"
"this isn't funny, hitoka!"
"it's kinda funny! it's only been like, two weeks and you won't shut up about him!" she doubled over in wild laughter. even though i didn't want it to be a joke, it kind of was. so i laughed too.
"it's- oh, shut up!" i kept laughing.
"you know, tobio," she grinned with every tooth, "i like seeing you happy."
"you do?"
"it's been a while since you've smiled so much. i missed that part of you."
i wasn't gonna cry.
"don't make me cry."
"i'm your best friend, that's my job."
i scooted across the blue quilted blanket on her bed and hugged her, and at first she was tense, but then she let it happen. she softened up and hugged me back, giving me a good squeeze before letting go.
"i know i'm an asshole, but i'm glad i have you."
"i know you are, dummy."
"now don't ever be nice to me again." i smiled.
"i won't, you dick."
it's addictive- i can't stop. he made me smile once, and now it won't go away. i'm smiling so much. is something wrong with me? am i going crazy?
when will monday roll around again so i can see him?
