I almost cried tears of joy seeing how thrilled Tamara and Cal were to have another member of our family. Well, Cal was. Tamara did not want a baby brother or sister. I scooped her up and asked her why she did not want a new brother or sister. She did not speak English and instead cooed and whimpered. Luckily, Cal understood her language, so he translated.

"Tamara really wants a sister or second brother, Mommy. But she wished that it did not have to be a baby."

"Is that so?" I said. "Why does she not desire a baby sister or brother?"

"Tamara is afraid that you and Daddy will love the new baby more than her and forget about her. Plus, she will not be the cutest one in the house."

I looked at my daughter. "Is this true?"

She sniffed and put her little hands on my chest. "Me the cutest!"

I giggled. "You are not wrong, Tamara." I sat on Cal's bed and motioned for Cal to join us. Cal climbed onto the bed and sat next to me, swinging his legs. "You kids are the best things that ever happened to me and your father. If anything bad were to happen to either of you, your father and I would be crying our hearts out. Actually, your dad's heart would not do that because he would have a heart attack."

"What is a heart attack?" Cal asked. "From its name, it sounds cool."

"It is anything but cool, honey. People have died from heart attacks. You do not want Daddy to die, now do you?"

"What does it mean to die?"

I opened my mouth, but before I could utter a single word, the three of us heard a male's voice from downstairs. It was Caleb. He was back with our meals.

"Honey, I am home!"

"Daddy!" the children proclaimed in unison.

Cal leaped off the bed and was going to run to Caleb, but I stopped him and gently grabbed his arm. "There is something that you and your sister should know before either of you greet your dad."

"What is it, Mommy?"

"Please do not tell him what I brought up to you two."

"You mean the new baby?"

I nodded. "He has no clue that I desire another child. He and I need to discuss it before we are able to move forward."

"Okay, Mommy. My lips are sealed."

"Good. Now you may see Daddy."

I released him, and he dashed out of his bedroom and down the hall and down the stairs. "Daddy! I missed you!"

I poked my daughter's belly. "You too, cutie. You cannot tell Daddy about the new baby."

Tamara covered her mouth with those tiny hands of hers.

I kissed the tip of her little nose. "That is my girl."

"Where are my favorite girls?" Caleb wondered, referring to me and Tamara.

I hurried as fast as I could and reached the bottom of the stairs. Caleb was next to the front door and holding our son. It warmed my heart seeing them together. It is just a shame that Cal had some of Ava's DNA. That boy is nothing like Ava.

Caleb smiled at me and Tamara when he noticed us. "There you two are."

I smiled back at him and walked over to him and Cal. "Welcome back, honey."

We kissed each other on the lips, and Cal pretended to gag. Caleb and I laughed.

"It is perfectly normal to kiss, Cal," I explained. "It is true love."

He looked away. "Blah! I will never kiss like that."

I patted the top of his head. "Your feelings will change when you are older."

I took note that Caleb did not have any bags and asked him if he received our order. He replied that that he did and that he had set them on the kitchen table. Tamara licked her lips and rubbed her belly.

An hour later, we finished our meals and cleaned off the table. Cal volunteered to wash and dry the plates, but Caleb and I insisted that he go play with Tamara. I winked at Cal while Caleb was not looking, and he understood that I wanted me and his dad to be alone.

I was the last to finish and threw my napkin and utensils onto the empty plate. I then took the plate and empty glass to Caleb and set them next to the sink. Caleb was drying off the last plate besides mine and smiled at me once again.

"It is okay, Cindy. I got this."

"I can see that." I rested my hand on top of his and could easily tell that he was blushing. "We need to talk, Caleb."

"A-about what? Please do not tell me that you desire a divorce."

I laughed and hugged him. "Why would I want to be rid of the one man who truly loves me for me?"

"You have good taste."

"I do have good taste." I kissed his cheek. "I love you to the moon and back and would never want to be separated from you."

His cheeks were now redder. "I-I am glad that you feel that way. So if it is not a divorce...what is it?"

I switched off the faucet and pulled him to the kitchen table. We sat next to each other, and I took in a deep breath.

"I am going to come out and say it, Caleb. I want your child."

He seemed surprised, but did not understand what I meant because he said, "You want Tamara or Cal?"

"This has nothing to do with them. What I am saying is that I want you and I to...you know...and have a baby who has both my and your DNA."

He tapped his fingers. "Let me see if I have this right. You want us to create a baby from the woods."

"Pretty much."

Then Caleb fainted.
