The New Girl

Chapter 4

It was now lunch and man was I hungry.

My first 4 periods weren't too bad. I had them all with Emily and she introduced me to some of her friends that we had classes with.

She showed me around some more until we reached the cafeteria. I looked around for Alex and saw that he was sitting with a group of guys laughing. Guess he doesn't need me after all. I smiled to myself and waved over at him as he waved back.

"Hey guys," she waved to a group of table with a ton of people sitting at them.

They all waved and hugged each other. "Everyone this is Danielle Campbell she's new here," she said letting everyone see me.

They all said hi and introduced themselves. From what I could remember there names were: Laine, Erin, Monica, Chelsea, Mallory, Big Mike, Marie, Mack, Reagan, Josh, Justin, Sam (The guy who made the comment earlier) and Jack J. They said they call him Jack J cause there was another Jack in the group but I didn't meet him.

"Hey guys whatsup?!" We all hear from behind us. "Gilinsky!" Sam yelled high-fiving who I assumed to be this "Gilinsky" guy. He said hi to everyone as he made his way towards me.

"And who might you be?" He asked as he grabbed the sides of his backpack smiling at me. I studied the beautiful human In front of me. He had dark brown hair, almost black, that stood in the perfect quiff, he had hazel eyes that almost looked brown in the light, and his teeth were pearly white and straight to perfection. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt with dark jeans and vans but you could tell he had a nice tan bod.

"I'm Danielle I just moved here from California," I smiled. "Ohh Cali girl that's pretty cool," he smiled. "My names Jack, Jack Gilinsky but everyone just calls me Jack G." Oh so this is the other Jack.

I smiled and nodded at him, "Nice to meet you," I said hugging my binder.

"So how are you liking little old Omaha?" Big Mike asked me.

"It's nice, I love the weather here," I said.

"Yeah you don't get a lot of snow in Cali do you?" Jack J asked.

"Well where I'm from we did. Ever heard of Big Bear?" I asked.

Everyone shook their heads except Jack G. "Yeah! I heard they get crazy snow and the slopes there are crazy!" He said cheerfully.

I chuckled," yeah they're pretty nice, well that's where I'm from so I'm used to the snow."

"Do you snowboard?" Josh asked me.

"Yeah Ever since I was 10," I smiled.

We all talked amongst ourselves, mostly questions about me until the bell rang.

"So what's your next class," Jack G asked behind me as I put my bag on my shoulder. "Uhm, AP calc," I said looking up from my schedule.

"Oh sweet we have it together!" He said with his beautiful smile. "Mind if I walk with you?" He asked raising his eyebrows. "Yeah! That way I don't get lost," I chuckled awkwardly to myself. He laughed along with me.

"You have a nice smile," he said looking down at me. I blushed looking down at my feet and said "Thank You."

We walked into class and I followed him to an open seat.

As the teacher began the lesson I kept seeing Jack glance over at me. I never looked at him but man I could tell I was blushing.

I had my last class, homeroom, with everyone I met and it was a lot of fun. We just talked amongst ourselves until the bell rang.

"Hey Cali wait up! " I turned to see Jack G walking up next to me, "How was your first day?" I smiled at the little nickname he gave me.

"It was fun, I think I'm going to like it here," I said as we walked over to my car.

"Nice wheels," Sam said running up to us putting his arm over Jack G's shoulder. I chuckled to myself, "Thanks it was a birthday present last year," I said as Alex ran up to the car. "Hey, how was your day?" I asked him as he stood next to me. "It was good." He said as he looked at the two guys in front of me.

"Oh Alex this is Jack G and Sam, guys this is my younger brother Alex," I said pointing in between them.

They all exchanged hellos and I said, "so are you ready to go?"

"No actually I'm going to check out the basketball team," Alex said.

"You're into basketball?" Sam said sounding more interested.

"Yeah I love it, been playing since I was 10," he said with a smile.

"Well come with me", Sam said as he put his arm over Alex's shoulder, "I'm captain this year and I could definitely put in a good word for you," I could hear Sam say as they walked away.

"Uh alright bye then," I awkwardly shouted after them.

"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" Jack G said as he put his hand in his pockets.

"Yeah definitely" I smiled opening my car door. And with that I started my car and drive home.

As I pulled into the driveway I saw that no one was home so I decided I would just get started on my homework and watch some Netflix.
