for example, when i'm feeling sad, i'll listen to a happy, kinda upbeat song to cheer myself up, but then when i'm super happy i can't listen to that song, because i've attached painful memories and feelings to it y'know what i'm saying
and i often find myself doing this, attaching painful memories to songs that i genuinely like, and ruining them. like If You Don't Know by 5sos. can't listen to it without at least cryin a lil bit.
music can make you feel so many things, it is one of the most powerful things in the world. you can listen to a song, and feel as though you're in love, even when you're not. you can listen to a song, and it'll give you goosebumps. you can listen to the first five seconds of ((sUMMER HAAHAHAHA)) a song, and know instantly that you'll love it.
music can make you, and break you. it can mean nothing, and it can mean everything. there's rap, country, r&b, pop, indie, grunge, rock, punk, and so sossosososO many subgenres. there is literally music for everyone
