Gauri's point of view
I could hear my alarm ringing hard but I don't want to wake now. I somehow reached out my hand and off the alarm . Peace at last , sleep here we continue .I felt someone tapping my shoulders hard . It must be Sahil.
"Stop disturbing me Sahil" I said
"Di wake up " said Sahil
"I want to sleep" I said
"If you don't wake now you'll not reach at time" said Sahil
I am sure Sahil will not allow me to even sleep a minute more . I try to open my eyes and I saw Sahil smiling like crazy.
"Happy Birthday di" said Sahil and hugged me
"Today is my birthday" I asked questioningly
"You don't remember" asked Sahil
"No" I said
"What is this di , nowadays I have to do and remeber things" said Sahil
"Ok mummy" I said.
Sahil went to the nearby table and bought me a cake . It had my name all over it . He handed over me a knife and I started to cut it . Sahil was clapping . I gave a piece to sahil and he put a piece in my mouth . I gave him a piece to eat . He put the piece all over my face .
"Sahil" I said
"You look better now di" said Sahil
I went behind Sahil to beat him. When I was going to Dadi came and we stopped where we were.
"Happy Birthday Gauri" said Dadi
"Thanks dadi" I said
"Should I teach you how to do Makeup" asked Dadi and I gave a small smile
"No dadi " I said
Dadi put Cake cream all over my face. Sahil and dadi was laughing and I also joined them . Sahil took the phone and we took a group photo . I really miss Annika di . Usually it would be Sahil and Annika di who would do this.
"Now Gauri get ready for University" said Dadi
"Ok dadi" I said
"Sahil come with me" Said dadi
Dadi and Sahil left . Today I felt to dress up a little bit more , maybe because it's my birthday . I apply some Kajal and wear a big Jhumka , it's my birthday it's my right to celebrate.
"Beautiful" said Dadi
I went to my pocket money keeping place . I took some money and kept it in my pocket . I went to an orphanage and donated some money , I did what I could . I then went to school . I saw Omkara ji waiting for me and I went towards him.
"How are you" I asked
"Great, what about you" Omkara ji asked
"Good" I said
"There is going to be art fest soon" said Omkara ji
"Wow" I said
"I look upto it every year " said Omkara ji
"We can Rock it" I said
"I need to go to my class ,I need to work on the form which I want to submit soon so bye" said Omkara ji
"Bye " I said
He left , I couldn't see him any more . He blended with the crowd . I could still not believe he forgot my birthday . The whole class that was the only thing lingered my mind. Lunch he had some works , I'm devastated. The uni also finished still nothing .
"Gauri, I need to show you where the Fest will take place" said Omkara ji
"Let's go" I said with fake enthusiasm.
"Surprise , Happy Birthday" said everyone
I was surprised . When I entered they blasted a party popper and there was small bits of it all over my hair. There was a cake on table with my name on it . There was my friends there . I was disappointed till the moment but now I'm very happy.
"Did you think I'll forget your birthday" said Omkara ji and I have an embarrassed smile
"I will never" said Omkara ji and gave me a hug
"I am hungry so cut the cake" said Ruby and I nodded
I cut the cake and everyone clapped . I first gave to Omkara ji then my other friends . We all enjoyed . I felt something in my neck and i looked what was it . It was the pendent I showed Omkara ji . I turned and it was Omkara ji
"Did you like it" asked Omkara ji
"I loved it but this is very costly , I can't accept this" I said
"A gift isn't meant to be returned and today is the day you should be happy and celebrated" said Omkara ji
"Thank you" I said with my brightest smile
"Anything for you"said Omkara ji
Everyone gave me a gift, it was not as extravagant as Omkara ji's , I still couldn't believe what happened . It was a beautiful birthday . A birthday without Annika di would be ugly , that's what I expected but Omkara ji filled the wound......
I'll be updating every Tuesday from now onwards , Friday I have a lot of work since school started . It feels like their giving more works now (I'm just lazy) . Anyway shower your love
