POV: Gabe

We had our talent already and we are about to go on and audition. There are a few teachers there to see who will get in and who won't. We are really nervous. For the talent show apparently we had to pick a name, and this was difficult. Five guys and trying to pick out something like a name.... That is a struggle.

-Flashback to Last Night-

We are sitting in Joey's garage and messing with ideas for a band name. We just got done eating dinner and let's just say that his mom makes REALLY good Mac N Cheese.

"Well what about Tiger Pack?" Alan asks.

"Why is that?" Chad asks, "I'm asking because I don't like cats."

"Well I think tigers are cool," he replies.

"Alan's a cat guy," Joey laughs.

We all laugh at Joey's comment. Joey always has some kind of random comment and we do not have to worry about what is going on in his mind because he just says it. It is always random and funny.

"What if we be a rap group?" Chad says this time.

"I think that Mac N Cheese got to his head," Joey comments.

"You're just jealous, Little Bro, that you didn't come up with it on your own."

"Me? Jealous? No no Chaddy. I do not get green with envy even if it is my color."

"Green is MY color Little guy."

"Guys guys don't make me go get my dad," Caleb stops the fight with one saying.

"Woah I guess we better behave and not be so grimm," I chime in.

We all laugh at that to lighten the mood. Caleb's dad comes down to the garage to tell us that it's getting dark, and if we can stay a little bit longer to figure the name out. We turn on the light and that whole garage was bright.

"Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?" Alan asks.

We all nod and Joey says, "Come on its about to get ridiculous."

Wow, we should write these down. If Joey wasn't such a good singer we'd think he would do comedy. I think he watches Joey too much on Full House. Joey is Joey's role model and it explains a lot.

-Back to This Evening-

We are standing back stage ready to audition, and there are only a few people/bands in front of us. And I start to get nervous. I hiccup when I get nervous, and I have them bad now.

"Are you okay?" Caleb asks me.

I shake my head and just sit there getting even more nervous. "I..I...I (hiccup) never performed in (hiccup) front of anybody and (hiccup) I don't think I can do this man. (Hiccup)"

"Woah just calm down its ok bro, you will be fine. I know because God is by our sides telling us it's going to be ok. Just shake off the feeling and just have fun. Okay?"

I nod my head. Those were encouraging words that I needed. (God is by our sides.) I will remember that. "Thanks Caleb." He nods at me and I go to the fountain to get a drink at the fountain to calm my hiccups.

On the way there I bump into someone also auditioning. She is carrying a beautiful Violin and when we crash she almost drops it, but I catch it just in time.

"Hey watch it..." She starts to say, but when she meets my eyes she stops. I get up and reach for her hand.

"Are you ok?" I ask.

"Yeah I'm great! Thank you so much for saving my instrument."

"I'm glad I was able to catch it. (Hiccup) Looks almost as pretty as the player." (Did I just say that out loud?)

She blushes as I hand her back her violin. My hiccups are even worse now.

"Ok can I ask this time are YOU ok?" She looks at me with those beautiful brown eyes.

(Sigh) "I'm ok... It's just I'm a little nervous and I'm scared the judges will (hiccup) make fun of me."

"Hey don't worry about it. If you perform like you did with your ninja reflexes then God must have given you talents."

This time I'm smiling at what she said. My hiccups go away even without a drink.

"Hey what's your name?" She asks me.

"My name is Gabe and what is... Woahhhh." I'm getting pulled away by Chad who says to me, "We are on next dude let's go."

She smiles and waves at me, but Chad has his back turned. He didn't see the kiss she blew to me. She is sweet, but I'm a little disappointed I didn't get her name. Oh well I can get it later.

-On Stage-

We are on the stage and the teacher motions for us to go ahead.
We sing the song that is really popular right now. We sing "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys, and I felt confident after that girl talked to me that I forgot to be nervous. It was only the three teachers, but after talking with Her and Caleb, I could do anything. They reminded me that God is by my side and I see the light now.

After we are done all three teachers clap. (I guess that means we got in)

Mrs. Mac C (apparently she came up to the middle school to help with the talent show) told us that she was so impressed that she couldn't see the same little boys that were in her fifth grade class.

(They grow up in such a few chapters don't they?)

Before she tells us it's ok we can leave she asks, "do you guys have a name for your group?"

We all smile and Alan speaks up.... "Yes we do. It's called Yellow Cavalier."
