Bitter Sweet

CHAPTER 1

Elizabeth

"Hey girl! What's up?!" I arched a brow when I heard her voice, gosh this girl is really something. I put my laptop beside me and faced her.

"Oh?" I stared at her with a bored look

"Are you busy?" She smiled sweetly, I rolled my eyes and got my laptop back. I need to advance study for the next school year, I already got my subject so I need to focus

"Beth dali na, magpapasama lang ako magpaenroll" she put her arms around my shoulder, sitting beside me. I rolled my eyes again

"Are you still a kid? I ain't your mother" she put her head on my shoulder.

"Grabe ka naman, puro ka lang naman gadgets dito sa bahay nyo sabi ni tita" I stopped for awhile and faced her, she fixed her hair while pouting her lips

"Look Nicole Angeli, i still need to be on dean's list this school year. You're 20 you already know how to enroll yourself" I was about to get my laptop when I heard my mom's voice

"Go now Beth, Help Nicole out." I bit my lips, I'm getting pissed. I rolled my eyes and went to my room.

That right there was Nicole Angeli Gonzales, She's a Tourism Student from West Visayas State University. She's kinda this jolly person and my bestfriend since childhood, 14 years to be exact. They're already used to my attitude, being an only child seems lonely and sad but honestly I'm enjoying it or was I?

"Beth omg! 2nd year na tayooo!" She giggled after saying those words, I smirked

"Happy ass" I whispered

"Yeah yeah, malapit na. Soon magiging Psychologist ka din! Naks Hi Doc!" She cheerfully said while driving and laughing her ass out. We're on our way to WVSU, she's actually so excited. The reason why she picked me up is so obvious, she wanted me to enjoy and see my former school where I graduated. I've been in Integrated Laboratory School for 7 yrs. I did graduate my SHS here at WVSU and took up Humanities and Social Sciences.

"Hala san tayo mag papaenroll?" Being the observant person she is, said while looking for a spot

"Ayuun!!" She pointed to an empty space just in front CBM building, we're in front of College of Business and Management

We went towards the building, well, it's kinda old honestly and the office is just right in front where you'll find the CBM coop/canteen near it.

We entered the CBM office, at hinanap ang assistants na naka pwesto malapit sa pinto. She was then instructed to go to her adviser somewhere in the cubicles inside the office.

I waited at the receiving area while Nicole went to her adviser to asked for the enrollment form and what to do next.

Nung bumalik sya ay umalis narin kmi papuntang Hometel building kung saan ang OSA (Office of Student Affairs) to process her enrollment. We've decided to leave her car here in the CBM at maglakad nalang papunta sa Hometel kasi baka mahirapan na kmi maghanap mamaya ng parking space

"Wow, we've been here for so many years, pero hindi pa rin ako umaalis" she let a soft laugh habang umaakyat kami papuntang second floor.

"Kung may loyalty award siguro ang school, first honor na ako!" at dun na ako nakitawa sa kalokohan nya

We reached OSA na andito sa 2nd floor ng hometel building, still needing to wait in line to pass her form. I stepped out of the line and let the other students take my place. Out of boredom I took my phone out and decided to browse through Instagram.

I then heard nicole's voice, "Let's go" she said, as I looked up, putting my phone back in my purse.

"Later pa ata yun Beth, let's go grab some lunch at WVSU coop" I nod and we started walking until ma reach namin ang building ng coop at umakyat sa 2nd floor kung saan matatagpuan ang Westside café.

It's almost lunchtime so maraming students and faculty ang nandito having their lunch. WVSU coop is just infront of the nursing building that's why marami talagang kumakain na nursing dito. It's somehow called their "tambayan" especially ang westside.

We looked for a vacant space, and once we did, Nicole ordered for the both us. She got herself some pasta and pink lemonade, and some pizza and coke for me. The place is really nice and aesthetically pleasing partnered with a soft jazz playing in the background. No wonder na madami talagang kumakain ditto. Plus, the food here is cheap too

As we ate and talked about random stuff, someone called out her name.

"Nicole" the guy shouted as he sat next to her and put his arm around her shoulder

He seems familiar. The guy then turned his head towards me and waved his hand giving a playful smile. Oh now I remember him

"Miguel" I greeted him

He greeted me with his wide smile, "oh Beth yow kamusta?"

"Good, alive and kicking" I smiled back

"Oh bat ka nandito?" Nicole said with a slightly irritated tone

"Miss kita pinsan!" Ginulo niya ang buhok ni Nicole at tumayo na

"What the..." Tumawa si Miguel at umalis, sinundan namin sya ng tingin papunta sa isang grupo ng mga estudyante sa kabilang table across the room. He's taking up Nursing so most probably mga kaklase at ka block nya ang mga kasama nya.

I was about to divert my gaze when I saw a guy sat beside Miguel. He looks, neat? I really don't know. It's just that everything about him screams Gorgeous. Ok, that went overboard. But the way he dressed looks clean and I like that. How can someone looks so good in a plain white V neck shirt and a faded blue jeans?

Plus, he has deep brown eyes and a well defined jaw and I think I just discovered the most gorgeous nose ever

"Sino tinitingnan mo?" I looked at Nicole with wide eyes,

"May gwapo?" I shooked my head and went back eating my food to divert my attention while hiding my smile.

"Hoy gaga diin?" (hoy gaga saan?)

"Beside Miguel" i smiled at her widely

"Aaaaaah" she gave a teasing smile

"That's Sean Andrew Aragon, Drew for short" she winked and starts eating again

I nod and glanced at him again trying to memorize his face, when he unexpectedly stared at my direction and smiled.
