Chapter 11: Your Wrong Mam

Lexi's POV
After Lacey phoned me I phoned Max immediately, he had just left to go back to work. " Hey, Lacey just phoned me and said that Daniella and Aleesha saw us kissing and the teachers know" I said " What? How there was nobody in the common room" max said panicking " Look if something happens we just have to act dumb about it and saw that we are just friends , Lacey said the police might be getting involved" I said " yeah that's fine, you best get into school then because they might wonder why your at mine " max said " yeah I'm getting ready now , everything will be fine won't it?" I asked worried " Listen everything will be fine, now get ready and get back to school , love you" max said " okay , love you too" I said before max hung up.

After spending an hour getting ready and then 20 minutes walking to school I got there to see a Police car by the front entrance. Shit. I kept reminding myself not to show any emotion as it would give it away, "What happened to your face? As her guardian I deserve to know " Max said angrily as they brought him outside where Lacey , my mam and Eddie followed " You can't do this!" Lacey shouted as she tried to get to him but Eddie pulled her back . " Lexi my office please" My Mam said as me and max locked eye contact as he was out into the police car and driven away " fine" I said as I walked with her to her office.

"Why's max been arrested?" I asked playing dumb " I think me and you both know" she said as we sat down on the sofas " Nope , honestly I don't know"I said as I played with the tassels on my bag " Somebody seen you kiss Mr Tyler after break" she said as she took my hands " ha are you serious? He's my teacher mam, I mean he hugged me because I was upset but no we didn't kiss" I said " Lexi , I'm not going to judge you " she said smiling " Honestly Mam you've got it wrong, I'm just friends with Mr Tyler . Ever since I met him he has really helped me" I said before Eddie and Lacey came into the office " Eddie I'm busy" My Mam said looking up as Eddie shut the door " Apparently Lexi and Mr Tyler have known each other for a few months, not just a week" he said as I looked at Lacey who looked upset "Lexi?" My mam asked  " well, erm ... look Lacey visited a few months ago and she was stopping with Max and I met him through her , but we are just friends " I said lying " Yeah that's what I meant Eddie , I came up to check if max was okay with me stopping" Lacey said backing up my story " I don't know what to say lexi, you do know that Max Tyler is trying to get me sacked and your saying your friends with him?" She said " Your lying he would never do that" Lacey said getting angry " I know, see you just can't live with me not having a problem for you to fix so you cause some random things" I said as I stood up " Lexi that's not true" she said " whatever, come on Lacey" I said as me and Lacey left the office " I could do with a fag" I said " same , come on I know where" Lacey said as we walked to the back off the school behind the trees.

After checking that nobody was around we sat down and lit a fag each " that was close" I said "Not really Max is at the police station" Lacey said still angry " Look after school we can go to the police station and explain what's happened , they can't keep him there based on what two girls saw and there's no cctv in the common room therefore no evidence so chill out" I said " this is all a joke to you isn't it! Max was my guardian and without him I could end up in care , god all you care about if yourself!" Lacey shouted before walking off while I sat in shock, me and Lacey had never fallen out before so this was a whole new side to her.

Eventually it was the end of the school day and Lacey still wasn't talking to me " Don't bother coming back to Max's tonight" Lacey said as she pushed past me " What's up with her?" Chlo asked " Oh nowt , I'll see you tomorrow I need to go see my mam" I said as we walked " yeah sure, cya " chlo said as she left. I walked up to my mams office and saw Eddie walking down " Have you seen Lacey?" He asked as I passed him on the stairs "She just left , she's going to the police station I think" I said " okay thanks" he said before going down the stairs. "Is my mam in her office?" I asked Bridget "Yeah just go in through" she said as she looked up from her computer smiling " thanks" I said as I went into her office and saw her packing her stuff up " Can I stop at yours from now on?" I asked " yeah sure, you don't need to ask but I do need to talk to you about something I found in your stuff " she said " you went through my stuff?" I said trying to think of what might have been in my room " it was saffy actually, but it was a stash of drugs found in what looks like your grandmas jewellery box, your not in trouble I just want to know why you have them?" She asked " There not mine, I was holding on to them for a friend" I lied , "okay, now come on let's go home, I'm making lasagna for tea tonight" she said not angry at what I just said " oh yeah erm, I'm gonna get something to eat at the diner tonight just I've got work tonight at 4" I said knowing about one of the girls shifts I was covering tonight " oh erm well that's fine, what time do you finish? Me or Eddie could pick you up" she said as we walked to her car " I finish at 2 in the morning so I'll just walk back it's just a half hour walk" I said as We got into the car.
