Chapter 17: Ritsu Comes Back to School

The following morning, everyone's life resumes normally. Ritsu lies on a bench in the courtyard of the school.

"Oh, shoot. I can't play for the team or play with my band for now." Ritsu sighs.

Suddenly, someone drops an open book in his face.

"Hey!"

Ritsu removes the book and sees Shinomiya and Shirogane.

"Today's the first day of exams. Did you study, Sakurajima-san?" Shinomiya asks Ritsu.

"Yeah, you dropped some books over last week at the hospital, right?" Ritsu did, in fact, not study.

"The exams were today?!? Why didn't I remember!?" Ritsu thought to himself and panics.

He hurriedly stands up and leaves. "Oh, I think I forgot something at the library. See you!"

"...He didn't study." The two of them sigh.

At the library,

"Why, of all times, why is the library full right now?" Ritsu says in frustration.

He then hears a familiar voice. "Maybe because it's the exams?"

He turns around and sees Hayasaka.

"Oh, hey Ai-san. Did you study?"

"Of course. Come with me, i'll teach you. We're going to the rooftop." Hayasaka grabs Ritsu's wrist and heads towards the rooftop.

At the rooftop, they sit under the shade of the little shed near the door.

"Okay. So, did you study?" Hayasaka asks Ritsu.

"Of course... not." Ritsu scratches his head and laughs.

Hayasaka sighs. "Okay, we can do this. I believe in you."

They then proceed to study for the rest of the lunch period.

Before leaving, Ritsu says something to Hayasaka:

"Thanks, Ai-san. I love yo- I mean, I hope you do well in the exams!" Ritsu's face turns red.

Hayasaka also blushes. "Why didn't you say it? Dummy!"

"Okay. I love you, Ai-san."

Ritsu grabs Hayasaka's hand and they proceed to their classrooms together.

At Ritsu's classroom, he overhears some of his classmates.

"Have you heard? Sakurajima-san's dating Hayasaka-san! Lucky bastard!"

"I know." Ritsu thought to himself and he just smiles.

Their teacher then walks in and they start their exam.

Over at Hayasaka's classroom, her friends ask her directly about it.

"Ai-chan, are you really dating Sakurajima-san?"

"You're really lucky, Ai-chan! He's super cool!"

"I heard he wrote a song with his band for you?"

Hayasaka could only smile.

"...Wait. What song?"
