Chapter 9: Ritsu and Ai Go on a Date, Part 2

"...What did you say?" Ritsu asks.

Hayasaka, flustered by what she said, plays it cool. "Nothing! It was nothing."

"Why did i say that?" Hayasaka thought to herself.

"Did she just call me cute?" Ritsu thought to himself. The girl he likes did, in fact, call him cute.

After looking at the jellyfish, they went to the penguin show.

"Okay, does anyone wanna hold hands with the penguin?" The keeper says through a microphone.

Ritsu notices that Hayasaka wants to try it, but she's shy.

"Hey. Why don't you go ahead and try it?"

"...Sure." Ritsu then escorts Hayasaka near the front of the pool.

"Okay, smile!" the photographer takes two pictures of Hayasaka with the penguin.

Ritsu glances at the seats, and notices Shirogane and Ishigami doing a thumbs up and looking at them.

After the show, they went back in to the lobby to claim the pictures.

"Can i keep this?" Ritsu asks, his face turning red.

"Of course." Hayasaka tells him.

"It's getting pretty late, you wanna eat?"

"Sure thing!" Hayasaka smiles.

"Where do you want to eat?"

"I wanna eat at that new barbecue place! It's just around the corner, we can walk." Hayasaka starts getting excited.

"Okay, my treat!" They then proceed to the barbecue place.

"The food is so delicious!"

"Hey, Ritsu..." Hayasaka carefully asks.

"Yeah?" Ritsu replies, with food in his mouth.

"Pfff- Wait, i'm sorry, i can't take you seriously like that." Hayasaka giggles.

"Okay, there. What is it?" Ritsu finishes his food, and asks again.

"Actually, you know what? nevermind."

"What was she about to say to me?" Ritsu thought to himself, confused and worried at the same time.

"Thank you for the food!" The two of them say, before leaving.

Ritsu then escorted Hayasaka to the train station.

"Hey, Hayasaka-san, what were you saying earlier?"

"O-oh. That. It's nothing!" Hayasaka plays it off.

When the train arrived, the two of them were ready to part ways, but Hayasaka approached Ritsu.

She slowly leans in, and whispers something in Ritsu's ear. "...I wanted to say i liked you too." She then gives him a light kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you, Ritsu! See you!" Hayasaka then enters the train.

All Ritsu could do was wave and smile.

"WAIT, SHE JUST KISSED ME! A-ARE WE DATING NOW?" Ritsu said to himself.
