"Let's throw the expected out the window!" Don't Trust the B----- in Apartment 23

Lilli had to think fast. She quickly threw her stolen car into reverse until she was almost at the end of the caravan. She threw open the car door and strained to maintain both her invisibility and the car's. She ran around to the front of the car and clambered onto the hood. Bracing herself, she leaped onto a surplus truck that was driving by. She landed on the wheel well of the front right tire, hugging the hood of the truck with all her might as it bumped along, seemingly hitting every damn pothole. As her car started growing further and further into the distance, Lilli released her hold on it and watched as it turned visible again. She hoped that no one noticed.

Lilli clambered along the side of the surplus truck, clutching the canvas fabric that covered the back end of the truck. She paused at the back end of the truck and peered in, eyeing the Kezing agents sitting solemnly in their immaculate suits and black sunglasses. Aurora noticed with a twang of pleasure that there were women agents— she was glad that Kezing was finally branching out and recruiting women and not just men. An idea struck Lilli, and she grinned to herself as she sat down on the edge of the bench just inside the cover.

Adrenaline had been released and was pounding through Lilli's veins, filling her up with electricity. Her heart pounded as she looked around at all the Kezing agents sitting silently around her. She once again get the terror she'd felt down in their lair when she and Warren had gone to find Peter. It tore through her, freezing her blood and turning her organs inside out. Her hatred for Kezing and all of his agents was roaring throughout her and it took all of her willpower to not start fighting every single one of them.

Just when Lilli was about to lash out on the agents, the truck stopped. All of the agents stood up and Lilli quickly hopped out of the truck, making sure to maintain her invisibility. She watched as they all hopped out after her and started dispersing. Lilli quickly grabbed the shoulder of a female agent and turned her invisible before dragging her off behind the treeline.

"Hi, sweetie," Lilli said in a sickly sweet tone before punching the woman in the bottom of her jaw. She immediately collapsed to the ground and Lilli kicked her once in the head, knocking her out. Hurrying quickly, Lilli stripped the woman and pulled on her suit and sunglasses, leaving her on clothes on top of the woman. She noticed with pleasure that the woman had gloves to combat the 35 degree weather and with horror that the woman was carrying a gun. Lilli pocketed the heavy gun, hoping she wouldn't need it. Lilli looked herself up and down— the suit fit her very well. She took one last sentimental look at the red fleece before running out onto the road, dropping her invisibility.

Horror swept over Lilli at the scene she saw. Kezing agents were strewn all across the lawn, charging the Institute. Part of the building was on fire and smoke was rising from the roof. Lilli fixed her sunglasses over her eyes, sent a prayer to the good Lord above that no one from Kezing would recognize her, and joined the ranks of the agents as she sprinted towards the school.

As Lilli was about halfway down the lawn, the X-Men suddenly appeared in a cloud of blue smoke. Lilli's heart stopped as she saw all of her old friends, dressed up in their outfits and looking very small compared to the hordes of Kezing agents. It felt wrong to be on opposite sides of a battle with them. It all felt wrong to Lilli, but she didn't stop running. She couldn't blow her cover.

The X-Men started raising their arms to use their mutations, but at the same time the Kezing agents did the same. There were bright flashes of light as the front lines of Kezing agents reached the X-Men. Lilli turned herself invisible, changing her course and making a beeline towards the side of the building. There was a fire escape that led all the way to the roof, and Lilli took it. Her feet pounded against the metal flooring as she raced up flight after flight of stairs. Every window she passed showed completely empty rooms, but Lilli didn't have enough time to wonder where the students were. She had to figure out how to help her friends.
