Later that day they were out in the HMS Pogue and getting ready to explore the wreck, but as with most things for their crew, it wasn't going according to plan.

"This is empty," Kie sighed exasperatedly. "You took empty tanks? Okay, this one's a quarter full. It's enough for one of us."

"Love it when a plan comes together," Pope said sarcastically.

"Does anybody know how to dive?" Kie asked hopefully. "Anybody?"

"It's kind of a Kook sport," JJ sighed.

"I read about it," Pope said, trying to be helpful.

"Great," Gina rolled her eyes. "Pope's read about it so somebody's gonna die."

"Look, you put the thing in your mouth and breath. How hard can it be?" JJ shrugged like it was no big deal.

"Well if you come up to fast nitrogen get into your blood and you get the bends," Pope explained to us.

"Bends like, bend over?" JJ joked and Gina had to stifled a laugh as he stuck his butt out.

"The bends kill you," Pope rolled his eyes at JJ.

"Well that's not as fun," Gina said. Everyone laughed except for Pope who seemed to be on edge about someone getting hurt or getting into trouble.

"I can dive," John B said.

"You can dive?" JJ asked sarcastically. "I'm cool with that."

"Since when can you dive?" Kie asked, raising her eyebrows at John B.

"Since never," Gina scoffed.

"I'll do it," John B said, ignoring Kie and Gina's protests. "It's fine."

"Let me do some calculations real quick," Pope said, pulling out a piece of paper and a pencil.

"Yeah, you do that, Mr. Mathlete," Gina said.

"Now's not the time, G," Pope rolled his eyes at her and then went back to his math. "That boat's about thirty feet down. So it'll take twenty five minutes at that depth. Which means you need to make your safety stop about ten feet down. Alright? For two minutes."

"Yeah, yeah," John B nodded as Kie started to take her shirt off and jump into the water. "Ten feet, two minutes."

"What was that about?" Pope asked, referring to Kie jumping in the water without any explanation.

"I don't know, but I liked it. A lot," JJ said, still staring at the spot where Kie had taken off her shirt. "You should go do that, Gigi."

She rolled her eyes at him. "You're an idiot, you know that, right?"

"Yeah, uh when you're down there, you look for the cargo hold," JJ told his best friend.

Gina felt herself zone as she thought about JJ and his constant flirtiness. She had liked JJ for as long as she could remember, but there was that stupid rule that John B had made up about no Pogue on Pogue macking. She couldn't totally figure out what JJ wanted. Did he want a real relationship with her or did he just want someone to sleep with? Sometimes, like when it was just the two of them and he was being really sweet, Gina wondered if he really did like her. But then there were times like what just happened and she felt like he was just trying to get in her pants. Not that she hadn't gotten butterflies when he had said that he wanted her to take her shirt off and jump into the water, but she liked it better when he would play with her fingers or her hair.
