(Volume 3: Beginning): Round One

~Sora~

Ruby: "Hey mom. Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been. . . Well, things have been pretty busy Oh! Dad's here too. He's, you know. . .  dad. 

He's still teaching at Signal, but he told me he's going to be going out on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. I miss you too" 

I intertwined my hand with hers and she gave me a smile.

Ruby: "Haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. I keep her in line" I deadpanned and she started laughing.

Ruby: "That was a joke. She's actually a really great fighter, you can tell she's learned a lot from Dad. Well so are Weiss and Blake. Oh! They're my teammates. Together, we form Team RWBY.

And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. . . Anyways, uh, I made a bunch of new friends. And uh, believe it or not, I've actually started dating" She nodded at me.

Sora: "Hello Ms. Rose, we've never met but I'm sure you new my father. His name's Bigby Bael. I ended up helping Ruby after she blew up on the first day of Beacon" Ruby elbowed me in the side.

Sora: "Ow! Anyways, after that we became friends and as time flew by, I began to see her as more than just a friend. You'd be proud of the woman she is today. She's super cool and awesome at fighting, but still not as good as me"

Ruby elbowed me again, harder this time, before hugging my arm.

Ruby: "I've also met some. . . let's just say odd teachers. Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys too! I guess it's like they say: "Like mother, like daughter. I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early. 

But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he starts sounding like Uncle Qrow"

Zwei: "*bark*"

Ruby: "Oh! Looks like Dad's back. We've gotta go! He's dropping me off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission! Wish me luck!"

Tai: "Bigby Bael's son dating my daughter. . . Out of everyone to settle down, the fact that he did is surprising"

Sora: "Yeah. . . he's gives off that impression huh"

Tai: "I'm sorry if that sounded like an insult. But it's because you're his son that I can trust you with my daughter"

Sora: "Thank you"

Tai: "I assume I don't need to tell you to keep her safe?"

Sora: "Already planned on it sir"

Tai: "Good to hear. And just call me Tai"

Ruby: "Dad! We're gonna be late!"

Sora: "Calm down Thorns, we'll be there on time and you'll win your match. Trust me" I gave her a peck on the cheek. "But she's right, it's getting close to that time"

~Scene Change~

Port: "O-HO! It seems we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, Professor?"

Oobleck: "Doctor. And yes, Peter, I think it's safe to say: this match may be the one of the closest we've seen in the four-and-four round of the tournament!"

Port: "For those of you just now joining us, welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament! Broadcast live from the Amity Colosseum! If this is your first time watching, allow us to break down the rules"
