Chapter 13: To Be FriendZoned Or Not To Be Friendzoned (Part Two)

Start from the beginning

"I swear I'll go crazy if I have to hear Mrs. Vantroice talk about how her--" West cut Kelly off

"I don't want to know. Lalalala" West sang like a five year old, covering his ears in the process.

Kelly laughed. "Oh, right. I forgot she was your babysitter."

"We're gonna be upstairs helping Cerise get ready for her date. Call me if you need me!" Ronnie shouted to West who was making his way upstairs

"I'll might just take you up on that offer!" He shouted back flirtatiously, making the two of us laugh.

Kelly just rolled her eyes. "Thanks for bringing up that image from vacation"

Ronnie laughed and we entered the living room. Kelly's mom sat on her floral designed sofa that ranged in many colours. Like Kelly she too had light brown hair, but it was shorter and was kept casually out, sitting on her shoulders. The woman beside her was easily seen as at least eight or ten years older with dark auburn hair and a box of tissues in her lap.

"I dont know what to do anymore, Katherine. I've tried those magazines that--" The woman started

"Uh, Cindy. Would you like some tea? It's a great remedy for this situation. " Mrs. Willis's says hurriedly as we entered

"If you say so." The woman agreed

"Hey, girls." Mrs Willis greeted, getting up from the couch.

"Hey, mum. Mrs. Vantroice" Kelly waved

Mrs Vantroice responded with a sniff.

"C'mon."

We followed Mrs. Willis into the kitchen. For some reason it always smelled like cinnamon. Kelly opened the fridge like the hungry badger she is and started rummaging through it.

"I heard what happened earlier. Are you girls okay?" Mrs. Willis asked, pouring water into a kettle

"We are now. But I'm just glad to be alive. Who knows what could have happened?" I replied, taking a seat on one of the stools and resting my hands on the cold marble .

"That's good to hear. So any news to bring 'Momma Willis'?" She asks with a little laugh, resting the kettle on the stove and turning the stove on

"Pherise-phas-pha-phate" Kelly said muffled because of the jelly donut in her mouth. She closed the fridge behind and hopped onto the counter, chewing the desert.

"What she means to say is; Cerise has a date" Ronnie corrects, raising her index finger up like she had the greatest idea since the toilet was invented

"Really?" Mrs. Willis's eyes widened and she almost dropped the packet of sugar that was in her hands

"It's not a date!" I defended, resting my face in my hands in embarrassment

"Carter Woods asked her out." Kelly says, wiggling her eyebrows and wrinkling her powdered covered nose

"You have something right there, sweety." Mrs. Willis laughed, dusting off her daughter's nose.

"Mom!" Kelly swatted her finger swiftly

"So are we talking about that handsome fella with the girlfriend who uses a very excessive amount of perfume?" Mrs Willis asks, leaning on the wall beside the refridgerator

"That's the one." Kelly chortled, taking a lollipop from the jar of sweets beside her.

"Its just a project. I can assure you its not a date." I repeated this time more slowly for the girls to comprehend
