The stems were tied around the wire of the frame of the crown, hiding the silver object. Zayn loved the way that the pink and purple blended together, creating a magical pattern. As Zayn tied the last leaf onto the wire, the bell rang from downstairs, letting Zayn know that Niall had arrived.

He shoved the present into one of the drawers of the desk, dashing down the stairs to great the birthday boy. Once the door was open, Niall was in Zayn's arms, crushed against his chest. "Happy birthday, baby," Zayn exclaimed as he kissed the other boy. Niall laughed when Zayn pulled away.

"Well hello to you, too, Zee," Niall grinned, leaning up to kiss Zayn again. The raven haired lad laced their hands together, their fingers slotting in one another's. "I love you."

"Love you too. Now come on, I've got a present for you." Niall allowed the elder to lead him up the stairs, and to Zayn's bedroom. "Alright, now sit on the bed, close your eyes, and hold out your hands." Niall did as he was told, anxious to see what his boyfriend had gotten him. Carefully, Zayn removed the crown from its hiding place, setting it softly into Niall's hands. "Alright, you can open your eyes."

Niall gasped as he eyed the present in his hand, stricken with the beauty of each leaf. "Zayn, this is-this is gorgeous. Did you make this?" He asked, gingerly touching one of the purple leaves. Zayn nodded, sitting down beside his boyfriend. "It looks so pretty. Thank you so much, Zee. This is the best present I've ever gotten. It looks just like a galaxy, don't you think?"

Zayn smiled and took the crown from Niall's hands. "Yes it does. And it's a good thing you're a king," Zayn told him, reaching up and placing it gently on Niall's blonde locks of hair.

      "Yeah? Why's that?"

Zayn's smile grew wider as he leaned forward, kissing Niall softly on the lips. "So you can rule my galaxy, of course!"

B-I-N-G-No! (the vague idea is based off something I witnessed between a mother and her child while playing bingo. Niall's illness is totally made up)

"B13," the woman calling out the numbers spoke into the microphone, the blue ball in her hands. Zayn turned to look at Niall's card, spotting the 13 quickly.

"Alright, baby, what two numbers make up 13?" He asked, handing Niall one of the bingo chips. Niall's eyebrows scrunched up, his nose as well as he thought about it.

"Uh, one? And three?" He asked, unsure of his answer. Zayn's face broke out into a grin as the woman repeated the number.

"Great job, Ni!" Zayn praised, pecking Niall's head. The blonde only giggled, recieving a few glares from the elders around them. They were playing at the nursing home, due to the fact that the bingo caller called slowly, allowing Niall to have enough time to find what she called.

When Niall was three, a strange disease settled into Niall's brain, eating away at the organ. Niall had often cried and screamed during that time, holding his head and repeatedly telling his parents that his head felt like it was going to explode. It was after a whole month that his parents had finally taken him to the doctor, only to find out that a lot of Niall's brain had been eaten away, making it almost impossible for Niall to survive.

Somehow Niall managed to live, but his parents neglected him and hid him from the world in fear that it would ruin their reputations. Niall remained hidden for years until he reached the age of sixteen, finally getting a tutor that would try and teach him things. His tutor just so happened to be Zayn, who was kind and patient with Niall as the blonde struggled with learning anything. It was natural for the two to fall in love, and Zayn continued to teach Niall anything he could whenever he could.
