Differential equations are basically equations that contains differentials. In Engineering, differential equations are essential especially in RLC circuits.
As an Electrical Engineering students, we first encountered the application of Differential Equations in Control System Analysis.
Example:
(dy)/(dx) = cos(x)
{ [(d^2)(y)] / [(dx)^2] } + (k^2)(y) = 0
[(x^2) + (y^2)]dx – 2xydy =0
L{ [(d^2)(y)] / (dt)^2 } + R [ (di)/(dt) ] + (1/C)i = ewcos(wt)
