"The Measurement of Intelligence is the ability to Change"
"To improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often."
Each one of us is expected to be the most smartest and intelligent person in a room. We are; we human beings are capable of controlling many things, we are considered the most powerful too, because of the intelligence we are capable of possessing.
What is Intelligence to be precise? There are a lot of ways to define this particular word. These definitions define intelligence in their own way, but they are utterly incomplete, because they give incomplete picture.
"Intelligence is the aggregate or global capacity of an individual to think rationally, to act purposefully and to deal effectively with his environment". This was stated by David Wechsler.
This sure does point out crucial things. He stated, and most people agree that out of all other things, the talent of dealing effectively and skillfully with whichever environment and whatever condition; is the truest form of intelligence.
The more intelligent people tend to change their behavior, expectations, attitude when they see that what they are doing right now isn't working well enough for them. People with less intelligence are not able do it easily or this option doesn't even occur to them.
It is absolutely true that one's mental level can be specified by his or her ability to change. One cannot tackle hard situations if no changes are brought. We do know this cliché line that - "Change is the only thing constant." It is also true in the sense that our life doesn't only bring, colorful and bright wrapped sweet gifts, but along with that, also some really brutal and harsh experience(s)- the ups and downs, the changes because it wants you to learn something. And we should definitely go with the flow, if life demands change, than adapt to the change, don't stop! Who knows, maybe something better is on the way? Be intelligent enough to let the things you have to go, adapt something new that is on the way.
Maybe, one is destined to be scared to experience the change that is going to be on the way; although do remember that we are considered the most intelligent and smart product of nature till date; and surely rocks may not be smart and intelligent BUT even after a million years they do change; we need to change too, because if we are not changing, we're not growing. If we are not growing we are not being intelligent. We humans thrive in change and expansion. Trying to keep things as they are, is a really unhealthy approach to life. Avoiding changes reflect misunderstanding of us humans and our condition. Change is not to be avoided but to be embraced.
In other words, execution is THE key. Many times, change may not be what we want, but it's what we need in order to grow. To change, the simplest and subtlest thing we need to start changing; is our priorities. We cannot simply, just change. No. Changing oneself is a process, not an event.
As a person, a human, a leader the first person that I need to change is me. Yes, there are people that never change, do accept that, but don't ever accept that you are in that population. The process of change would not happen in a swish and flick, you might find yourself in the middle of nowhere, but sometime, you could also find yourself in middle of nowhere.
You may not like that, the change. But you need to embrace it, if you can clearly see that the alternative is a disaster.
Change does not just mean, changing a certain particular thing. Change can be brought anywhere, and is essential everywhere. Be it climatic condition or be it oneself; both are important. Never be afraid to change, because it is leading you to a new beginning. A change need not be perfectly planned and scaled out, because sometimes it takes a wrong turn to take you to a right place.
Some people do change; but according to their requirements, but, they are, under no conditions an intelligent being. If all people in a room think the same thing, then no one is thinking. The same way, less-intelligent people have a perception that they want to tag along the same old routine, they are afraid that they might lose. They want to lose small while the more-intelligent people are more prone and willing to change, they do not consider the option of losing small, they consider the option of winning big.
Bring the change in you, yourself by these three basic things : Vision, Passion and Action.
Only THE wisest and THE stupidest men never change. –Confucius
